The most used words by the Wrath parents this year were "Where's Max?" That is my 3 year old's name. Every tournament all the parents had to help watching him because he just takes off at the drop of a dime. This happened so much that one of the parents bought me a shirt that says "Where's Max" and him one that says "Here I am Dad"

when your DD is playing goalie during her fall rec so**er league and THROWS, not KICKS the ball to the field halfway line...and all the parents around you gasp and comment "Did you see that girl throw? Does she play softball? She must play softball. I think she plays softball!" LOL

And the one about the sunflower seeds in the bottom of the washer...they must've been looking at the bottom of our washer! LOL

Wow, people! This thread is a self-portrait of my family's life!

Here are a few more...

* When every time your folks drive you past any ball diamond within 20 miles of your home, somebody says, "Remember when..."

* When your favorite athletes are people none of your friends have ever heard of, like Katie Cochran, Danielle Lawrie or Megan Langenfeld.

* When you're the only kid in your class who even has a favorite hotel chain.

* When, in August, your Dad opens his credit card bill for July and notices his second and third E-Z Pass toll charges since June 1, along with $1,025 in hotel, $638 in gas, and $230 in Dick's sporting goods. And your trip to the World Series in Barnstorm, Wyoming, is right around the corner, but first you have to get a first baseman's glove because you're subbing there since your regular 1B got mono. (Say, "Just breathe, Dad, just breathe.")

* When you think all your friends are nuts for watching their silly vampire love shows and they all think you're nuts for watching the NCAA Women's Softball World Series.

When I open the car door to let my kids out at school and softballs and whiffle balls fall out and go rolling all over the parking lot.

Especially the back van door and a spilled bucket of balls pours out...or that one loose ball rolling around the back as you turn each corner! lol

* When you have old pink containers of Coppertone Water Babies sunscreen tucked away in every nook, cranny, console and glovebox.

* When the memories attached to the trophies in her room mean so much more than the trophies themselves.

* When you think something looks different about your daughter as she's walking down the driveway to the school bus, and you realize it's because for the first time in three months she's not pulling her softball bag behind her.

when you, driven 55 miles each way by your dad, attend a group acceleration/core program to improve your running and pitching speed, and every week you come home to tell your mom which participants threw up; and then on the last week you tell your mom someone got carted away in an AMBULANCE.

When you no longer have to tell your daughter anything while at bat because your 5 year old yells the whole script for you:

"Keep your eye on the ball, don't help the pitcher, nothing above your head, swing all the way thru"

When at the last summer game the players ask you when does the team's Fall and Winter indoor ball start.

When your daughter wakes up in the middle of the night and screams bunt!

When you ask if they posted the new Buckeyes softball schedule for the spring in the middle of August.

When your DD is looking at the end of season equipment sales online for a good deals.

When your five year old son can do every cheer :yahoo: perfectly, and does them all five hundred times a day!

When that same five year old was four this summer playing "up" with the six year olds and was the homerun hitter on his team, because his sister worked out with him all summer:D(talk about some shocked :eek:coaches who played their kids forward when this little tiny fellow got up to the plate and slammed the ball all the way to the fence.)

When your daughter wants to practice 8 hours a day for FUN!

When you ask DD (who is 21 and a mom) to come catch practice for you because it is 104 and she is in the front seat, putting her hair up with the rubber band from her wrist and pushing her feet into cleats, at the same time.

Old habits die hard.

When your daughter learns she has to have "Tommy John" surgery and the first thing she asks the doctor is " how cool is the scar going to look?"

This is great.....here's a couple more

When you carry around the sunscreen, bug spray, and those extra monthly needs for the girls just in case, and the coach is constantly asking for your leatherman to cut down the tee the girls have broken again...
The groceries fitting is so true, not just summer but winter also. If the back of my Explorer doesnt have my chairs,DD's ball bag, cleats and all. I feel like I have been robbed...LOL

A couple more:

When you go on a hunt in your car/truck/van to find where that smell is coming from and find socks/cleats/sliding shorts.......seriously it is horrendous.

When you bring your 13 year old son to a tournament and everyone asks who he is because they just figured you had 3 daughters (he spends all summer at his Gandparents.......he HATES softball.....but that will change soon as he gets older).

When you go into work Monday morning and they ask what lake you where on and you explain you spent every waking hour over the weekend in the sun at softball games.......and you liked it.

When you realized you have not eaten since Saturday afternoon and it is Sunday at 3pm because your stomach has been in knots.

You have a cooler in the back of your Flex with ice and water for 10 weeks straight.

Can you say water bottles....everywhere.....my daughters have a favorite brand.

Pre-wrap in like 8 different colors......all over the place.

Fingernail polish bottles in the team colors found in all types of places.
