High School Coaches to Start 2 New 12U and 14U Team

A great opportunity for girls to learn and be coached at a high level. A 12U and a 14U team is being developed by high school softball coaches. These teams will be coached 100% by high school coaches and assisted by high school players. These coaches develop, do not yell at players ever, and continually coach and teach all aspects of softball.

Tryouts late July and early August if needed. Private tryouts or smaller groups also available, if needed.
    Details to come...

I feel like this is a dig at a certain travel coach who might have some relationship with a school of that name.

Hello. No travel coaches are involved. Actually Im not aware of any travel coaches involved with these teams. Thats why we are doing this. We dont want to be part of any current travel teams, to be honest. No offense. We just want to do this the right way and the only way we know.

Be nice to announce who the coaches are and what level of travel you plan on playing. Do you plan on fall ball? fall ball is a dying thing but the HS teams that are competitive find a way to get girls playing.

If you land any of these HS coaches you will have one heck of a start.

    Blaine Wallace Western Brown HS
    Michael Schiering Harrison HS
    Jackie Cornelius-Bedel Oak Hills HS
    Brian Kindell Lebanon HS
    Anthony Lauer Clinton Massie HS
    Erika Leonard Taylor HS

I was not directing it at you.

What I got out of your post is you already had two coaches and we're moving forward in creating your team's.

I didnt think you were. All is good. We are moving quickly and trying to confirm schedules (the coaches schedules) before we get the remaining information out. Out of the coaching staff the head coach position is being discussed. Since that position takes more time commitment it is being sorted out as to who has the time, around their high school schedule and their job. Since its youth sports and not college or pro, their "day job" is still the main commitment. 2 of the 3 coaches are head coaches at the high school level. We want to be solid with all information before relaying. There are a good group of players that we are aware of already that we know and wanted to get a feeler out on this site as to the players and areas that we do not know. Example, the West side of town is not known as much to the coaches. Thanks!

How did you determine they had two head coaches established from the original post? In the response to you above the OP states they are still in the discussion stage due to schedules and commitment needed...

Over the years I have seen many upstart organizations / teams start out with good intentions but end up falling apart. I mentioned the HS coaches in my original post for a reason, I do not think think OP knows about what their involvement is in their local leagues or other options...

Don't get me wrong, its great that these individuals want to get something together but to avoid the flash in the pan here today gone tomorrow (that happens a lot) it is important for proper prior planning.
This should be done "prior" to any tryout that appears to be happening in just a few weeks.
In the original post the poster states they do not want to be part of any travel organization and unfortunately with the drop in softball numbers and the folding of the SOGFPA this impacts what you can do or, plan to do "depending" on the level and sanctioning you are wanting to play.

It sounds like they want to put something together but do not have any specifics on what they want to put together from the original post.
I have been coaching for over 20 years at all levels of play and was involved with a large Fastpitch organization for 10 years until the founders decided to join the REDS Urban Youth Academy.

Trust me when I say, "you have to know what your goals are for the teams/players are first then develop a plan to address the needs of the players and team so they can grow and be competitive".

They may be able to accomplish their goals and get help to do it. There are a couple other options that would work well with HS Coach and HS player coached teams.

#1 find a local rec league and coach a team in the GWAC or NCSL EX: http://www.lebanonfastpitch.org/home - https://www.ohyouthathletics.org/page/show/638851-softball
Naturally; if you do coach a Catholic team you have to go through the Archdioceses training. http://www.catholiccincinnati.org/ministries-offices/youth-ministry/ayatf/

#2 and IMO your best bet...Get involved in the Reds Urban Youth Academy or RBI program...A lot of the inner city HS and some of the Cincinnati Surrounding HS Coaches are already involved and you can run your own team.
Contact Herb Riley and discuss options. As long as your Head Coaches are NFHS Certified (and they should be if they are coaching in a school) these coaches will be in high demand to help.

    #3 Travel Organization
I know you stated you did not want to be part of any travel organization but there are several that offer A and B level teams that have structure and a base to help attract players.

I wish them luck in their endeavors. Here are some local league links...

Reading comprehension starts with the understanding of phrasing.

"A great opportunity for girls to learn and be coached at a high level. A 12U and a 14U team is being developed by high school softball coaches. "

Simply put two high school coaches are putting this together. I don't know how you or any literal person would read it any other way.

Good luck with your venture I wish you all the best in forming your two teams!

People like the one above are always around to try an discourage individuals from achieving goals. I wish you only the best.

I sure will. We are finalizing coaches and some are on vacation, but should be ready to tryout within the next 10-14 days

Thank you for your information. They have been talking through this since last Winter.
The coaches (2 of them) are 100% in, and as of yesterday a third high school coach has been in contact. Two are in and the third is in conversations with the other two. They two coaches have a lot of legwork completed but there are some points they are deciding, similar to what you mentioned. Youre right on with everything! And yes, all three are NFHS certified and have been for many years.
I will contact you back shortly about the direction of team and/or organziation
