ASA Tournament Sparta Summer Shootout ?ASA Eastern Qualifier

The following dates have been set for the Sparta Summer Shootout 2008. ? This tournament is located in Sparta, Ohio. ?On a map you will find it near the intersection of St. Rt. 229 and St. Rt. 314. ?Dates are June 13-15, 2008. ? Games will start at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008. ?
This will be an ASA Eastern National Qualifier. ?Teams from states that surround Ohio may attend and be able to recieve the ASA Eastern National Berth if they win.

Age Division is 16U.

8 game guarantee weather permitting.

2 umpires per game.

1 hour 30 minutes game times complete the inning during pool play. ?International Tie Breaker will come into play after this time limit in the single elimination portion, except for the final games.

Awards as follows: ?1st place(a berth to the ASA Eastern National, championship t-shirts, individual medals, team trophey), 2nd place(individual medals, team trophey), 3rd place(individual medals, team trophey), 4th place(team trophey).

Cost is $450.00

Am hearing alot of complaints about other tourneys, but Tom Hinger (TD) of the Sparta Shootout, has done a heck of a job to get the games in. As of Sunday morning, every team will have gotten 7 of their 10 games in, with some minor modifications. Top 6 teams to bracket play, but you still are getting in 7 GG.
The fields are getting lined and worked on after every game, and the addition of the 200' fences has made this tournament excellent. Plenty of warmup space, and good umpiring. If you didn't pick the Sparta Shootout this year, make sure you put it on your list for next year..

The results were posted yesterday under the 16u game scores, but I will repost them here.

OFC-Heat Orange defeated the Phoenix to win the Sparta Summer Shootout. The Inferno defeated the G.F.O.D. Thunder to finish in 3rd place.

Tournament dates June 13-15th, 2008. All teams got in atleast 7 games with a minimum game time of 1:25 no new inning at 1:15. No bad for rain knocking out half of Friday nights games and part of Saturdays games.
