Things to do at Tournaments

What are some of the successful things you've seen TD's do to give the ladies things to do (or their families) to help them enjoy the experience.

For Instance: For our Static Phanatic tournament on April 25-26th at Rivershore Park, we will have a HIT-PITCH-N-RUN event for all to enter in. I've seen other things like "Moon Bounce", Bull Riding, Small Festival Rides, Speed Radar, Music DJ and Jam, and a Corn Hole Tourney.

And, has anyone tried something and it turn out really bad or a huge waste of time. For the TD's or groups hosting, it gives them a chance to find ways to differentiate while raising additional cash.

Last year we gave the young ladies a ticket to enter the city pool for free. It is located in the same park as the SummerSlam3 tournament. We will be doing this again this year.

We have seen groups of 5 distant throws. Speed throws, water ballon toss contests. Simple things but entertaining.
I used to bring a cooler full of water balloons to games in the hot summer days & let the girls have some fun after games.

Those poor coaches.... (*snicker*) :lmao:

OH and sprint races.
Set up Tees with a ball on it & they have to try to throw a ball and knock the ball off the tee.
Put a TD in a dunking booth to raise $$ ;) .

We have had homerun and running contests at a couple of our youth league tournaments. The one we did where we gave away Aeropostale gift certificates went over really nice!

Go2Go2, my daughter loved that one, especially the sweatshirt she got with the certificate.

On topic, any competition the girls can do is great, running, throwing, racing etc... Things that include parents or coaches are also great. Water balloons always seem like a hit to the girls. They love music so DJ's would be a great thing. Having the other team award a VIP for the games is a great way to reward the girls and lets the girls get to know each other a little.
Swimming one, sorry, not so great. It's really hard on the parents and coaches trying to explain why you can't go swimming for a couple hours between games or after games when you have early games the next morning...lol.
