Did Stingrays Wiley get a berth? I hope they did I just wasn't aware. Did they happen to get the Ice berth by chance?

i think they got region 9 bid that Maddogs gave up. We had a little (lot) of parent problems and chose not to go. I heard last night Ice is still going.

The worst thing about nationals this year is I have two daughters going Two different age groups, try as i might, i can't be in two places at once

I schedule my self and the dd a week out a time. thats all I can keep up with . And i don't do a very good job of that. looking forward to seeing you and Jess. MD

Interesting about the berth that Maddogs gave up. How does it get determined that Stingrays gets the berth, since no one other than the Maddogs was in the Region 9 tournament? I'm not grousing, as we are going, but I AM continuing my nearly 10 year quest to figure out ASA berths. I think I probably have another 10 years before the quest is achieved.

Find it hard to believe that Arizona and Florida are sending so few teams. I assume that will change in the next week.

Carol, I believe that in past years that when Warren has gotten unused or other berths, he has tried to follow the rankings of the ASA State Tournament. Not always true, but most of the time it is. When I talked with him last year, this was his method to the madness. But eventually, he needs to find an Ohio team that would want to make the trip because I have a feeling he doesn't want to give those berths back to ASA to use elsewhere.

I didn't follow the 14U ASA States, where did the Stingrays finish at ASA States, if they were even there. Or he might have based it off of the Canton, OH results.

Canton would definitely have given the berth to Stingrays, and I have no problem with that. Can't remember how they placed at States. But it will be fun to see them out in Moline.

Thanks for adding to my "education" on ASA berths.

I can guarantee that Az will only be sending the teams on the sight! The entire state only has 2 berths and 1 at the regionals. The list below is all that is coming to Moline from Az! Az only has 955 registered teams with ASA, compared to Ohio's 2500 shows why berths are hard to come by if teams dont sign up to play ASA.
