The Diamond Dawgs coach was going to call and let us know when he heard anything, but have not heard anything yet.
What a unusual injury.
Thanks for the compliment on the story. Lot of great games and girls playing hard and having fun (and that is what it is all about anyway... the kids).

I only got to be there on Saturday to watch my 10U Road Runner team play. (I had to go to Mt. Sterling to watch my 16U team on Sunday.) I thought that things were well run and seemed to be well organized. Only one umpire was an issue a couple of times, but no big deal. It is only fall ball. We didn't even have a full uniform for every kid yet. Everyone had a good time and we appreciate the work done by the
S. O. Hammerhead Organizaion to make this a good experience.

I don't see a problem with using one umpire in pool play. There were two for elimination and thats when its important. Great Tournament John Cummings and Chris Dean!:yahoo:

Sounds like a great tournament !!

I talked to Warren last week and he said that for 2011 ALL tournaments that are Qualifiers MUST use 2 umps for every game. That will include pool play also.

This will make it better for all teams involved all over the country in my opinion. :yahoo:

I agree... 2 umpire requirement will be better for all teams involved.
However, I thought we were very fortunate with the umpires we had for the tournament.
Whether you have one umpire or six on a field, there are going to be plays that draw reaction from people... with that being said - we heard no complaints on the umpiring and believe that is because Shorty and Ann did a great job of sending us some of the best in the area!

Thank you John, Chris and the Hammerheads for a fun filled weekend of softball. You guys did a great job and you couldn't have order better weather. Our Viper girls had a blast and it was a great way to finish the fall season. Good luck to all your teams in 2011.

Hey guys, Charlie here from the Kentucky Diamond Dawgs.. Marybeth, the young lady who was hurt in the game against the Mustangs has a MRI scheduled for Wednesday.. She stated that something popped in her knee and she had a burning feeling there as well. She did go to school today and is getting around but only with crutches... Mustangs, Thanks you guys are a class act and Chris and the hammerheads organization thanks for everything..

Hey Charlie,

Thanks for the update on Marybeth. Let her know that the Mustangs We wish her the best and a fast recovery. Like Clydesdale1 stated please keep us inform with the her MRI, All coaches hate to see these young ladies with any type of injury.
