Originally from Floyd County Kentucky. Most of the family is still down there with a few in Lexington Kentucky. Im trying to get the wife to move down to Lexington Ky or Knoxville Tennesse area, but my YANKEE wife wont allow it. LOL!
Glad to help with some scores. We left after we lost a heartbreaker to the Ohio Dragons in the bottom of the 4th inning. The mother-in-law was watching our 3 other kids,so we had to pick them up. First time we seen the Ohio Dragons, and they do have a very nice solid team.

I believe it was Stingrays over the Dragons in the Championship game 7-6 in a thriller.

Great job to both teams. Congrats to the Dragons for the great finish you all played like champions. This team will go a long way in the 10Us this season with good coaching from coach R and coach D.

I first want to say I?m new to travel fastpitch softball. My daughter has played for a couple of years at the rec level but decided she would like to try the travel thing. She has played travel soccer in the past so we thought we know what to expect. We attended our first tournament this weekend at GFOD. For the most part everything was very positive and we have a good time with the exception of one thing. At the end of the Stingray and Inferno game with the score 8 to 3 (Stingrays), there was a play at home plate. The Inferno player tried to steal home and the Stingray catcher dove on top of her and tagged her out. The Inferno player was laying on the ground hurt and crying. The Stingray coaches, all 3 of them ran out to home plate and started celebrating with the catcher like they had just won the World Series. That was the most classless thing I have ever seen by coaches at a youth athletic event ever. If this is the way coach?s act at the 10u age level I would hate to see the older groups. These kids are 9 and 10 years old. The coaches need to be setting good examples for the kids and not displaying this type of behavior. ?I was told by another parent that with some organizations that wining is everything no matter what. The Stingrays must be on top of that list. Now my wife and I are unsure we even want our daughter to be a part of a group like this. Even in soccer (a sport I dislike) they have enough respect to kneel down and be quite when someone is hurt.

rpr34........ I can assure you that this does not represent what the Stingray organization is about. All of the Singray coaches and teams that I have encountered have been all about class. Hopefully one of the higher - ups will contact the 10 - u coaches and explain to them that this kind of behavior is not acceptable.

Very nice tournament GFOD. Even with the six hour power outage, you kept the teams engaged and kept most everyone in good spirits. Thanks for all of your extra work to keep the tournament rolling. It was great to see the teams in the dirt and playing hard! Vipers were awesome with great kids, as well as the Irish. Stingrays played hard and made our championship game a true championship game! Nice support from the coaches from the other teams. Heart 9- you have a great group of kids and will be a force this summer! Lil' Dragons - you rocked the house and we are proud of you! Parents....the best - with class-hands down! Congratulations Stingrays on a nice win....see you in the summer for a rematch! Ohio Dragons 10U

RPR I saw the play in question . The catcher did not jump on top of the runner . The two players collided at the plate . As far as the celebration ,..Im sure no one intended any disrespect . Both coaching staffs went out and were concerned about both kids . Its easy to get caught up in the excitement of this sport . I do agree with you on one thing,.... soccer should have stayed in Europe !
