Crazy Hurricanes was not accepted in the Stingrays tournament. Your team is one of the teams I simply enjoy watching you have a great group there for sure.

Not sure if that's a compliment or a insinuation? Yes, we have some animated characters in and around the dugout, no denying that! And of course we feel the Stingrays org got it WRONG not accepting our application to play in what is supposed to be a premiere event for Ohio. Think about this. These girls develop at the speed of light at 11-12U. The question becomes, how do you not allow, one of the best teams in their respective class, not to participate in the event? Even as 11U we did not lose to a Ohio 03 team! Granted there is a application process, which obviously we did not met the basic criteria. However why not save two-four spots for teams who show they are capable to playing at a high level? Ask the HC's from Vipers, Sundogs, Wizards, Storm, Slammers, Lasers, Outlaws, Classics, Wolfpack if we can compete. So yea Stingrays got it wrong. Its all about the girls? Right? Stay tuned......

This is another reason why WHO you play for matters!

So get in based on name and not track record? Is that the point? Novel idea...

Yes unfortunately that is the way it is. you can't deny it. These orgs keep the talent coming in especially at the recruiting level, so i am sure they have the track record to back the name.

Slammers had a tough weekend at ASA states. Not sure how we originally had a pool with Sundogs and Wizards??????? Also not sure why the pools were not re-worked when the Sundogs dropped. They dropped a week before the tournament. That should have been plenty of time to add the Slammers and Wizards to a 4 team pool. Then to carry the Sundogs into bracket play was an absolute advantage to the teams that drew the bye. All bracket games were 7 innings in very hot weather.

That said, Slammers lost a very intense game against the Wizards 1-0 on a single in the bottom of the last inning.
We never recovered from there. We fell to the eventual runner up in WV Fury 7-5 and couldn't overcome an early deficit against Wolfpack and fell 7-5.

The top teams are very good. This is the first time we have seen the Wolfpack all year and I was very impressed. They played and coached a great game against us.

Why was a team from WV allowed to play in the Ohio ASA State Championship? Seems strange but there may not be a region rule.

It was a compliment, your team is fundamentally sound and one that can beat any team on any given day..
