I have mentioned in the rules of the voting in the past that veterans of the softball community are eligible to vote in the polls. Just drop me a message to explain who you are, what part of the state you watch the most and your current role in the travel ball world.. Over the years I have had a few people that have provided good feedback on teams across the state and were unbiased while doing so.

Coaches, please continue to post the results of all your games each weekend on this thread.. This gives voters some of information they need to accurately put a 1-10 together.

Some questions came up last week about specific teams being eligible based on being a true Ohio team... The criteria I have always used is if your team is sanctioned in OHIO by USA (ASA for us old guys), then that team is considered an Ohio team that is eligible for the Coaches Poll.

I don't always know who is and who is not.. I depend on the coaches to police this and let me know if a team is getting votes and they are an out of state team.
Also, if your team name is not listed the way that you want it. Coaches, please let me know how it should be.. I get variations in the votes on team names.

OhioEmeralds’09. 35-22-1
we were off for the first time since the sun came out this past weekend.
Upcoming:
May 8-9 D1 Fastpitch Breast Cancer Shootout
May 15-16 PGF Super Select Ohio

We have played an extreme challenging schedule vs top 08 and 09 competition. This is our odd year so the challenge has been accepted. Injuries have hurt us over the past month, but that’s no excuse and we still jumped into events as other Top15 teams backed out. We are a true 2009 team

Key wins:
#61 National Indy magic gold (Indiana) Webb
#116 National Indy Dreams 09 (ask 08 teams at Future Stars)
Laser Black 2x
Michigan BatBusters 08
Team Pa
Finesse 12u Kubacki
OE08 Lester

key losses:
#1 National Bev bandits Demarini 08
Wolfpack 2x
Lady Rebels 2x
OE08 sir 2x
#98 National Central Florida Stars Gold 09
#108 National Finesse Davis 09 3x
Chicago BatBusters
Cobras 08

I want to congratulate wolfpack for winning the Wildcat Classic and cobras 08 for being runners-up. That field was tough and those were great wins and my vote will reflect that! Cobras 08 beat finesse HOF, Racers 08, and Ice Blue in bracket! That’s a tough draw!

Since this thread is about week 2 of the spring season, I choose to not take the "VOTE FOR ME" approach. Meaning I am not going to post about what we did last fall or indoors this winter. This past week the Lasers Black 09 were idle. We will be back on the field this weekend in North Ridgeville at the Outlaws Breast Cancer Shootout.

Like many others, we have many multi sport athletes who miss tournaments as well as injuries however that won't ever stop us from being transparent and posting our results each weekend. That is what bothers me about these polls. Some coaches go above and beyond trying to prove how great their team is. Keep in mind the following... Only one coach from each team can vote. Based on the results, a very small amount of coaches actually vote. And what you post isn't always the only determining factor in how coaches vote. Remember this, almost all of our teams have a Facebook page as well most are on game changer. I see some coaches who only post on their Facebook page when they win or do well. I see some coaches boast about how strong their schedule and or competition is, however their game changer shows otherwise... And please, spare me the "nationally ranked" .. Not disrespecting any on those teams however those rankings aren't any more accurate than this poll. Last week when I looked at those rankings, 4 of teams in the top 10 in OHIO hadn't even played a game yet... Any coach who plays a competitive schedule doesn't need a poll to validate the competition and results of each team when voting.

Bottom line, this poll is for fun. We are all going to win great games, lose close games, lose to teams we shouldn't have, so be it.. It's part of the game. Simply put, just put where you played, who you played and your scores and let others decide how good or not good you are. Respect is earned on the field, not in this poll...

In the end, respect that Jeff still takes the time to do these polls for all of us (Thank you Jeff) Let's stop blowing smoke and bickering and let's be transparent and leave out all the big buzz words and other things that make it seem your team is above and beyond everyone else. Keep it fun! It's for the girls, right???? Best of luck to everyone going forward!

Hawks 08 Hutcheison went 7-2 this weekend in Cedar Lake, IN at Springtide 7. We were supposed to be in Michigan, but backed out due to COVID testing requirements. Was hoping to play with Wolfpack and Musser in Mogadore, but got waitlisted.. so ended up in Indiana. Both losses were to IMG Bogunia by one run. Game times were tight 65 min/70 min, but we played 9 games in 2 days. We got in a lot of reps but it was a grind physically and mentally. Ultimately it served it purpose and we know what we need to fine tune as we prep for PGF Showdown 5/15. We are off this weekend.
