Ohio Glory '01 had an outstanding weekend taking 2nd place in the Celine Wyatt Memorial Tournament. This was an outstanding tournament, held to raise money for the Celine Wyatt Memorial Scholarship fund in honor of the young lady who left us at far too young of an age last September. Regardless of what other tournament is going on this weekend, and who else is playing at the other tourneys, this is a tournament where Ohio Glory '01 may be found until we are too old to play in it!! It was a perfectly-run tourney with good competition, lots of fun, usual umpiring and the best part is the fact that 100% of the proceeds will go to the Celine Wyatt Memorial Scholarship Fund! EXHAUSTING 6 games on Sunday!!!!
The girls really stepped up and played their hearts out. Left it all out on the field after a tiresome 11 games in 3 days. Of our 9 wins, 7 wins were by the run rule (10, 8, 6 after 4th, 5th & 6th inning).

Glory had one hiccup of a game against a very SOLID Dirt Dawgs team (this is the game where our pitcher was hit in the face with a rocket (see post "Another Thread on To Mask...or not to Mask"). Those Dirt Dawgs are a scrappy bunch and have a lot of hitting weapons throughout their lineup. That is a sleeper team that you better not overlook if you face them. They can HIT and as a result we were sent to the loser's bracket.
My hat goes off to Marc and the Ohio Storm '02 team. They played excellent all tourney long & made it to the final game in the winner's bracket. We faced them in the finals and knew we had to beat them twice in a row. We were lucky enough to beat them in the first game in a very tough battle that came down to two solid offensive innings for us. We were able to hold them scoreless that game, but Storm regrouped & came back to beat us in a 7 inning battle royale!
Fantastic game & a warning to all 12 U teams.....take notice that Ohio Storm '02 is the real deal!
Overall I'm VERY proud of my girls & what they accomplished this past weekend. Glory '01 is back.
