Last night i was contacted by someone who wants to bring a 10u and 12u team, so that will give me 6 12's, but now 5 10's. So I am looking for another 10u.

This tournament is a complete joke. ?I hope NSA sees how poorly this tournament is run. ?I also hope they never get another tournament again. ?Here is what happened to our team.

Today our game was to start at 6:30, it rained and no one can control that we understand. ?We were put on a 2 hour delay along with the 12U Buckeye heat. ?Both teams arrived at the field at 7:30 to start warming up. ?As soon as the game ahead of us was finished, both teams went to the dug outs and the umpire called for the managers and captains. ?Then one of the umpires yells to our umpire, hey I am going home the called of the rest of the tournament. ?Finally someone from Jackson shows up and tells our umpire they decided to cancel the rest of the pool plays. ?Why did they wait until we were on the field? ?Why did they make us wait 2 hours and why did they not tell us the hour earlier when we were warming up? ?Why was the first game played if the fields were too bad? ?

Next is even worse. ?We wait around after our game is canceled because we are supposed to play at 8:00 AM but there is talk amongst the Jackson people and the NSA site director about moving around start times. ?We are then told we play at 9:30 instead of 8:00 AM. ?I contact all of our parents by 9:00 PM to come to the field for a 9:30 start. ?Tonight at 11:45 the tournament director Adam calls me and tells me we now have changed again and we are playing at 8:00 AM. ?How can I call parents at midnight to come to the field at 7:00 AM instead of 8:30? ?I called Adam back and told him the 12U Tigerlillies would not be able to make it by 8:00AM that they needed to stick to the first update and what they wrote on their own bracket sheet and Adam would not move the game back. ?I can understand moving a game later, but changing it earlier with less than 8 hours notice when most are in bed? ?Brilliant move!!! ?The 12U Tigerlillies will not be able to play tomorrow because Jackson cannot figure out how to run a tournament. ?ADAM, I would suggest you send a full refund to our team and all the other teams you have screwed in this tournament.

Tom Steiger
12U Tigerlillies

By the way ADAM, you can be assured my parents and myself will let all the teams we know how poorly you run your tournaments and I am sure there will be plenty to read about on the OFC both for this tournament and should you try to host another. ?I know I would appreciate another team telling me not to waste my money on a tournament run so poorly!!!!

Tom,

First off, yes we were on a 2 hour rain delay, we have over 10 people working on the fields trying to get one field done at a time to get the games started. We had ALL intentiions to play ALL pool play games which is why we were brroming the water off of the fields, raking, and putting diamond dry on the field. We were able to get an umpire to clear one field in which we started a game. we were working on two other fields, figuring the 4th fiel might be done for the day. I had already canceled two 14u elimination games for Saturday night and pushed them to Sunday morning (with the initial plan to push two fields schedules back). I failed to look at the entire 18u bracket when I made that hasty decision because it was not possible to do so.

The other 3 fields, outside of the one playing, was deemed unplayble by the other umpires and several coaches, then and only then with met with Lisa Simpson and the umpires and it was suggested to us to cancel the 3rd pool play game. Lisa said we would be playing into the very late hours to turnaround and come back. Thre was also more rain in the forecast for about 9:30pm, whichwuld hve made things even worse.

We held a coaches meeting by the brackets and explained what the plan was, when Lisa came down with the brackets she found the discrepancy with the 18U games, causing us to relook at the game times. We made it clear to all coaches that we will call, email, and post on the website. We did all three, although rather late, since i didn't even get home from the fields until 11:30 and had 36 teams to call. I was unaware that someone did not go to the field that was playing to let those coaches know, i will take full responsibilty for that. Every step I took, Parents and coaches were stopping me, my cell phone rang every 2 seconds, and I was being pulled in 10 different directions. Again, that is not your problem, but I would hope ev eryone would understand. it became very chaotic trying to play and making the decision to cancel the pool play games.

However, for you to say the tournament was a joke is offensive. The threat of rain was immediate from the onset and even told all coaches what the weather report was on Thursday afternoon. We made the decsion immediately to cut games to one hour 10 minutes and get games started early. I think it is commendable from my entire staff that out of 56 pool play games we only canceled 14! Everyone got 2 pool play games. did you have ONE complaint before the rain, if you did, you never said one word to anyone! Bottom line is we had rain, unpopular decisions were made and late phone calls were made because the first thing I needed to do was make sure we can still get games in on Sunday,

I tried to have a normal conversation on the phone with you, but you hung up on me. You asked for a full refund, I said you played 2 games and chose not to play an elimination game, while I would have come to an agreement on some kind of refund if you would have discussed things with me, but you chose not to want to discuss it.

I bet if you would have made those unpopular calls, your parents would probably not be happy, but I bet your kids would have been ready to go, you made a decision to drop out because I had to change the schedule to male everything work for tomorrow. You are entitled to your opinion and I cannot stop people bashing us on OFC, but everyone including my team wanted to play as long as it was safe to, it was not on 3 fields. My communication about the change of the schedule took longer than i wanted, hindsight I should have asked more people to help call. I cannot apologize for than I have.

Adam,

No there was not a complaint about the tournament before the rain. But you and your staff watched as we warmed up for an hour in the outfield during the game ahead of us being played. That game meant nothing to the seating of the elimination on Sunday so it should have been canceled earlier. Advance notice would have been nice and some better planning. That was the problem on Saturday night.

When we left the field it was very clear that we were to play at 9:30 AM on Sunday. You called me at 11:45 PM to tell us that we had to be there at 8:00 AM instead, only 8 hours from game time. I tried calling the first three families and could not reach anyone because the entire team and parents were in bed. I called you to tell you we could not get there that early after telling everyone that we played at 9:30. We also have over an hour drive time to get to your tournament. I asked you to work with us and rearrange the schedule. You were not willing to do so. So you saying we chose not to play an elimination game is wrong! You did not allow us to play that game because of your poor planning and your lack of skills in running a tournament.

As far as offending your field crew or anyone else involved in the tournament, I am not blaming them, just you! You are the one who called a team so late after your mistake that we were unable to compete. So ADAM, you are the one being called a joke and you are the one being blamed. I was not able to make any decision about dropping out, you forced us to be unable to play. It was your fault period!!!

wow

i agree with D-gals...that wasnt right...why would you play if the brackets were set?

twisters parents on the field crew should be commended for their work..eventhough the games were called...they worked hard for nothing.

to the twisters...who is the bald 12u coach??? he should be banned from coaching kids..What an idiot!

the whay he acted and the way this tourny has been run...goodluck getting another tourny or anyone to come.

Note to self: When playing at the Twister tournament (with Adam Goch), DON'T GO TO SLEEP. HE MIGHT JUST WANT TO CHANGE THE TIME TO AN EARLIER TIME AND FORCE YOU TO FORFEIT.

To Agoch, One word "organization", there was none at this tournament. It was like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off! I am a parent of one of the Tigerlillies players. I am still trying to figure out why I drove 1 1/2 hours to arrive at 5:30 for warm ups for a 6:30 game and to be told we would play at 8:30 and have our team and oppenent team warm up at 7:30 take the field exchange line ups, have captains, coaches and umpires on the field ready to play to be told ....go home. At 5:30 our age group brackets were already posted for Sunday with satrting times. We all could have saved 3 hours and a lot of aggravation. Your ending statement, "I bet your kids would have wanted to play" pertains to Sunday. Well our kids wanted to and were ready to play Saturday at 8:30. Trying to figure out why you waited to 11:30 to call all coaches, when at 8:30 you knew what direction this tournament was going. I would have thought the teams/coaches notification should have been a higher prioriety with travel and all! I saw your crews busting butts on the fields, no denying that! But, all of the teams entered paid quite a bit to be here and deserved a lot better.

I understand alot of you are upset. however i feel everyone did their best, considering the amount of rain that came in such a short period of time. and everyone was doing a job, not chickens just running around.(very unfair statement) Adam admitted to making a couple of mistakes, which i'm sure no one on here has every made one of those, and he has tried to make it right but it seems to me, that there is no reasoning with some and you are just going to keep bashing the twisters with is very unfair. very good club, with good familys and coaches!!!!!
