Looks like this is going to be a great tourney once again. Too bad the selction committee made a mistake in picking the wrong static team at 14-U. this is not the cincy static 12-U black team that was pretty good last year. They picked the new 14-U team with no real track record from last year. The static black team from last year is the 95 purple team this year. That team should have been in this tourney.

riptides, if you have seen the application for this tournament, you know there is no way that one team could be mistaken for another. The application is very detailed and requires specific information.

While throughout the years many quality teams have unfortunately been left out, I can guarantee there is a reason. And while I in no way speak for the Stingrays, I know the factors that go into settling on the tournament field are as varied and numerous as the quality teams that make it in. So, I would just caution not to jump to conclusions based on certain teams being, or not being, a part of the tournament.

I know the gentlemen who make these decisions take it extremely seriously and do everything within their power to make this the best event in the Midwest.

We played up in 14+U once last year. We plan on playing mostly up in 14+U this year. That should better prepare us for ASA Nationals.

The application is located at the following link, as it has been since it was released in September. And even though I have nothing to do with the tournament or the Stingrays, I would assume the teams that have a "Rubber Stamp" are the ones that year after year have proven that they are not only a strong team on the field, but also one that competes with
class.

NEW 14U TEAM WITH NO TRACK RECORD? Are you serious?? This team played some very good competition and beat some very competitive (and well known) second year 14U "A" teams last year as a first year 14. We suffered some injuries throughout last season, but the nucleus of this team has been together for 3 years. I'm not taking anything away from the 12U Black Team from last year (my youngest daughter played on it) as they had a pretty successful season - but this team did not ride on anyone's shirttails into this tournament.

I don't usually say much on this website; but I believe this needed a reply. I am sorry to hear that someone would speak low about this team. This team was the Cincy Static Black 14u from last year. We played one of the toughest 14under schedules last year of any 1st year 14u team and most probably the toughest schedule out of the organization. One of our main goals last season was to be accepted into the StingRays tournament for 2009 -- and we accomplished that goal.

The Cincy Static organization fielded (1)16U, (2)14U, (2)12U and (1)10U in 2008. This year expanding to include 18U.

John T is this the same 14U team that played in the Rip It tournament in Greenville back in October? I think i saw them play there.

Yes -- this was the team that played in Greenville. We were missing several key players
such as one of our pitchers/shortstop (injured), catcher/3rd base(on a trip), 2nd base (family
commitment). They are all 3 key in the hitting lineup as well as on the field.

Also by the last game on Sunday -- our pitcher/catcher combo were both tired and
feeling under the weather. (Probably from the cold and all the innings played).

Looking forward to an exciting 2009 season.

When should we expect the pool play schedule to be finalized? I for one can't wait to see what great matchups are in store for us come July 2009!!!
