Great softball this weekend. Alot of grrat teams out there. So much talent. Going into Sunday, we were 5-0, we beat Cincy Storm(Great team with a great coach!) Then we won against MV Express. (Our bats got hot again), and that put us in the Championship against EMR out of Cincy. It was a battle of defense! Many diving catches, and deep flyball outs. We held on to win 1-0. Southern Ohio Cyclones go 8-0. It was our 4th tourny win. We had a great time. Great teams and coaches everywhere.

I watched some very well played softball this weekend. The 16U finals went down to the end. I heard the EMR pitcher pitched all 8 games this weekend. Their other pitcher was hurt and she did all of them, even as hot as it was. Bet she sleeps til Tuesday.

Kudos to the EMR pitcher then, she sure didn't pitch like it was her 8th straight game...some of the best pitching I saw all weekend in that championship game....Also hope their CF is ok today...hard shot after making that ESPN highlight catch in center!! :yahoo:

I talked a little with one of the coaches after the game on the way out and she did pitch all eight games. Said she pitches multiple games a lot but that was the most. Did what she had to do for her team as they all did. I wonder what she looks like pitching only one game since she did awesome after eight? Apparently she is only 15 too. I saw CF walking out and she looked okay. What a play though, great catch. Everyone was beat after that weekend, it was hot.

Is getting to the finals worth throwing a girl 8 times in one weekend, just a question. As coaches aren't we also responsible for the health of the girls that play for us. So I will ask the question, would you as a coach throw a pitcher 8 times or would you take your loses and go home. I had to do it a couple of weeks ago, didn't like it but the health of your players should be first and foremost.

The EMR players were tough as nails and their coaches one of the most positive we have faced. The pitcher and that defense, no matter how many games they had played, were the best I saw out there. :yahoo:

I think you had to be there. She looked fine walking out of the park and was looking pretty upset that they didn't win. My kids played sports and some just have more endurance than others. I know from experience that there are girls that want to just play for fun and others that play all out to win.

Didn't mean to imply anything. Was there watching the 18U Southern Fury game and heard a lot of noise on your field and turned to watch. Ended up being a great game. Just happened to mention what I got when I talked with the coach, that is all. Didn't get to ask the Cyclones coach anything as the momentum of our game had taken a sudden change. No need to be defensive, it was a great game from what I saw.
