Hello,
I see in the new 2013 ASA rule book (Rule 3, Section 6-7) they have a rule for metal cleats.
Wanted to get a better understanding of the ruel.
The rule states "Shoes with round metal spikes are illegal. Shoes with detachable cleats that screw on are not permitted however, shoes with detachable cleats that screw INTO the shoe are permitted."
I also see that the metal cleats cannot extend more then 3/4 of an inch from the sole or heel of the shoe.
May be a dumb question but are they talking about the cleats that are rounded on the corners?
And what is the difference of detachable cleats?
Will umpires be checking cleats as they do with bats and helmets?
One question on pitchers gloves. My DD who had a glove with a neon yellow/green emblem had to black out the color. If a pitcher is using a glove that is illegal should it be pointed out to the umpires? (Rule 3, Section 3).
In advance thanks for any advice/answers on these issue's.
