Are they keeping pool play? If so is there a new schedule for it as well?

Someone please tell me it rained last night in strongsville? ??? Games were played last night all over the city? I feel there were sooo many lost opportunities to play ball... 2 hr delay this am???? Now a blind draw??? With ridiculous times... Sorry please don't try and justify it by hard working field crews I was there for hrs yesterday morning and didn't see one person with a rake.......at least on our fields. I'm also just annoyed. I under stand one can't control the weather, but I don't feel the weather was the major issue here... Just my opinion...if I'm wrong and it rained all night and the field crew was working before and after all my times at the field then shoot me....my bad

Staying with family a half-hour from the fields & no rain overnight here. Can't believe they aren't even starting games until 2pm! And, same observation, husband was at the fields all day yesterday & not a single person seen working the fields to try to get games in. Very disappointed in this tournament, especially when it appears other age groups played & are playing.

I feel bad for the teams that had to get hotels and the people that took vacation days for this.

I've said it before and I will say it again. North Ridgeville/Strongsville no surprise with lack of effort LOL

Mantle07 ... you shouldn't generalize so broadly. I have been associated with several tournaments run out of the Shady Lane Park in North Ridgeville, and they historically have done a great job there getting fields ready. I know there have been some issues at Victory Park from time to time, though I will say I have seen good effort there on some occasions.

I have never seen much effort come out of victory.... Just saying

It definitely has been inconsistent there ... was at a tourney there last year though where we had a field first thing in the morning that looked unplayable ... they had a crew of about 5 guys working on it, and they actually brought in some sod to fill in a particularly bad area ... it wasn't an ideal solution, but I appreciated the fact that they put a large crew on it, and did get the field playable in a reasonable amount of time ... just saying ...

If a coach could have all possible info before selecting tourneys, I'd want to know who is responsible for the fields ... typically (obviously not always), if it's the team hosting the tourney, they do a good job. If it's a private park or city, the odds of that go way down though some parks and cities do have a good reputation for that.

As for Strongsville, I have been to this tourney the last 2 years ... last year, it was hot and sunny all weekend so no issues, but the previous year there was some rain, and I remember being disappointed in the effort as well.

I'm not one who likes to come on here and complain because I know how difficult running a tournament can be - however, I think a lot of us coaches are very frustrated with the way the 12 u portion of this tournament has been going.

The New Rec Fields have been a nightmare... Had a good experience at the 12u fields last year. But this new location has been a poor choice. Grounds crew has been MIA most of the tournament.

Have to admit one of most poorly run tournaments that I have been to. Grounds crew...Who?
To do away with games in the 10u and shorten game times to 60 min drop dead (pool) and 70 min drop dead in bracket play. As 2 10u fields sit empty for hours.
Also umpires who sit behind backstop for 30 plus minutes taking a "break" between games as two teams sit waiting in dugouts after their hour of warm-up to wait for the umpires to mosey on over to get game started. Watched a coach get thrown out after raking the entire field, after a rain delay because it wasn't enough...all I can say is WOW...

Not to mention the field we were playing on looked more like someone was getting ready to plant some crops, rather than getting ready to play ball.

I take full blame for all the rain this weekend. We all know I have a long track record in having storms follow me every tournament!!!!!!
