It definitely has been inconsistent there ... was at a tourney there last year though where we had a field first thing in the morning that looked unplayable ... they had a crew of about 5 guys working on it, and they actually brought in some sod to fill in a particularly bad area ... it wasn't an ideal solution, but I appreciated the fact that they put a large crew on it, and did get the field playable in a reasonable amount of time ... just saying ...
If a coach could have all possible info before selecting tourneys, I'd want to know who is responsible for the fields ... typically (obviously not always), if it's the team hosting the tourney, they do a good job. If it's a private park or city, the odds of that go way down though some parks and cities do have a good reputation for that.
As for Strongsville, I have been to this tourney the last 2 years ... last year, it was hot and sunny all weekend so no issues, but the previous year there was some rain, and I remember being disappointed in the effort as well.
