Our 11u Ohio Sapphires team is looking for a few more athletic girls to add to an impressive solid core group softball players.

Team Information:

11u: Is Coached by Dean Kontul who coached last season with the 16u NEO Attack. Dean has some exciting plans for this group and with his experience and knowledge in fast-pitch, this will be a special team. Prospective players and parents: First I am thrilled to continue coaching with the Sapphires after 6 years coaching my oldest DD.

I would welcome a chance to see your daughter at tryouts. While we will be predominantly an 11U team, so we don't have to rebuild every year, we will look at 12s as well. All positions are open, players play based on skill along with a team first attitude. The 12U staff will work very hard to teach every player how to play the game at a competitive level, respect the game, and be a great teammate.

Multi Sport Athletes are very welcome, although we focus on softball during softball season..so we expect commitment to the team from late spring to mid to late July. We will play 7-9 Tournaments (TBD) and practice weekly prior to the start of the Tournament schedule and during the season. Fall and or winter activities TBD

I also wanted to encourage 13/14U players to come out for tryout on the older team under Dave. My middle daughter has played for Dave and his staff for thelast 2 years and has had a wonderful time and enjoyed great success. I looked long and hard to find a coach that I thought would be a fantastic role model and teach the sport a high level and field a completive team. You cannot go wrong with this team or the great group of supportive parents and we will be working hard to create the same experience for the 12Us

It was a very difficult decision trying narrow down to 3-players from a large group of outstanding talent. We wish you all success with your new teams for the upcoming season.

If you haven't found a team for your 11-12yr old DD our 12u team is still looking for a few more solid players. Dean has already picked up some very good athlete's and this will be a good team with great coaching. Dean is an outstanding coach; one of the best coaches I have been around. If my DD were young enough, I wouldn't think twice about having her play for Dean.

Tryouts will be this Saturday from 12-2pm in Akron at Cascade Valley Park 1199 N. Cuyahoga St. Akron 44313 directly across street from Valley View golf course. Field#2. Warm-up/Sign in 30-minutes prior.
