We are roster complete - Thanks.
This fall and into next summer I will be overseeing the 2018 Ohio Hawks 16u Gold team (2019/2020 grad yrs, '01 and '02 players), in the same manner that I did with the 18u Gold (2018/2019) grad year players that I coached last fall into this summer. I will be their recruiting coordinator and manager. This summer we qualified (3) teams to play at USA Softball Gold Championship in Clearwater, FL, the only team in Ohio to do so. Coach Wagner will be working with me as a coach and recruiting facilitator.
This past fall/summer we played in the super pools at Scenic City and Diamond 9, Pennsbury, Stingrays(fall and summer), Outlaws Fall Brawl, and Lasers Green Showcases. We competed against teams like the Birmingham Bolts, Atlanta Vipers, East Cobb Bullets, Tenn Fury, Georgia Impact, Gulf Coast Hurricanes, Firecrackers, Beverly Bandits and others. Getting players recruited requires that teams get positioned in the top pools in showcases - All three of our Gold teams played on the ESPN complex in Orlando and in the top Super pools and at the Summit in Scenic City. The current 18u Gold team (2016/2017 players) has had 12 players receive Division 1 scholarships, 4 D2 and others NAIA. Every player that came thru the 16u season into 18u had offers with money attached.
If you will be playing at 16u next season, desire to play D1/D2/NAIA college softball, will travel to showcases from SC, Florida, MI and the midwest, and would like a private workout please contact me at CoachLenos@ohiohawks.com.
Our 18u and 16u Gold squads 'swing' 16u players between the teams to maximize their exposure and opportunity (the teams play the same showcases). We will practice indoor all winter at a large facility we rent that allows for game sim and live pitching practice.
Fees
Annual fees to join the team is $1200 ($400 fall, $800 winter/summer) - which includes all fall (5-7 showcases), winter indoor training and summer (7 tournaments/showcases) fees, 4 uniform sets, helmet, back pack, etc. This covers all fees for the entire year.
Our hosted tournament, the Dayton Metro allows us to keep our fees as much as half a low as other organizations. We do not have paid coaches, I oversee our Gold program with Wendell Hutchinson, both as non-parent coaches.
In the past four years, the Ohio Hawks have helped placed 103 players into college softball programs, 30 at the Division I level. We currently have 18 players signed or verbally committed to Division 1 programs this season in our organization. We have 8 additional players playing now that we anticipate accepting offers by the end of the fall season. DI schools where Hawks players are currently playing or are signed are: University of Kentucky, Charleston Southern (2), University of Louisiana-Monroe, St. Peters, Tennessee State (2), Morehead State, Marshall, Ohio University (2), Winthrop, Bowling Green, University of Toledo, Miami of Ohio, University Tennessee - Martin, University of Dayton, IPFW and Wright State.
Players interested in scheduling a private workout please contact me directly. We are only looking to pick up 3-4 great players to complete the roster.
