A question about NFCA membership

I'm a former coach whose dd is beginning the college search. We'd like her to attend an NFCA showcase event or two over the next year or two.

Do I have to be a member of the NFCA for her to attend?

And apart from that, would an NFCA membership be a worthwhile investment for me? I'm not coaching any more, after all. And what little I don't know ;&, statman and hitter and valley storm and bear and parma and the rest of you experts can always supply. (I'm serious; all of you people here are incredible.)

Which is to say, I'd like to save myself sixty bucks if I can.

Please enlighten.

Thanks!

you do not have to be an NFCA member to attend NFCA Showcases, Conventions or Classes but you can get discounts on the last two if you are.

The affiliate membership is worth it if you like to stay in the know on the game of fastpitch. You will get their monthly magazine which is worth the price of membership in my opinion. Also, being a member in Ohio does influence the amount of coaching courses they offer here and near by.

Join, it is worth it! JMO

Yahtzee is correct. You do not have to be a member, but lots of great information available to members.

Well worth the money.

If you don't want to be a member consider it for your daughter.

Also there is a little known benefit of being a member is that you are on the list earlier than non-members for the showcases. I have never had a player not accepted to a NFCA showcase. Spend the sixty bucks.

Agree with all the above. I've belonged for 4 years and while it's not cheap it's well worth the investment. There is quite a bit of information in their monthly newsletter and helps to keep up with what's going on in the college world.

I agree with the above posts.

There's a world of fastpitch out there many people are unaware exists. The monthly paper, the website, and if interested the classes offered by the NFCC are the best in the country. I've been a member since '04 when I took advantage of their discount for my first NFCC course. The knowledge and connections I have made over the years has put me in a position to help many student athletes in a variety of capacities. Some have gone on to play in college. You don't need to be a fanatic like myself to be a member of the NFCA, but broadening my horizons about fastpitch softball has been personally rewarding. Some fish and others play golf but this is fun for me.
