Straight,

Even though my DD tore her ACL playing volleyball we have no regrets playing multiple sports. I feel the risk of softball burnout is on par with sports injuries.

It helped my DD to talk to other girls who went through the procedure. PM me if you would like her contact info. Are you going to the Bustos clinic in Columbus?

A few years ago in 3rd grade i had heel issues and i had to get surgery on my left foot on the attenden so that ****ed cause i had to take off of all of my sports. The attenden had to het lengthen because it was to small. If you have this same problem don't get the surgery because i didn' help me so it probablly wouldn't help you.

10 yrs ago I tore my ACL snow skiing (mind u I only went twice, first and last time), I waited about 3 months to have the surgery, because of my employment. I went in for Surgery on Friday, had torn it completely since having the MRI, and was released on Saturday. I went back to work on Tuesday via a brace and finished rehab in 60 days and was back to playing Softball without a brace! Dr. Umverfurth in Powell did it and told me it would be stronger now than it was before, and I'd have to agree, but I dont do half the stuff a Teenager does. LOL

She goes to rehab this month and gets the operation Jan. 28th.
Might be a good idea for her to talk with your daughter over this. Can you pm me.
She will need all the positive stuff she can get. What age is you dd. And how old when it happened.

I wont be going to the Bustos clinic.

My daughter attends a small Division 3 school and we have had 2or 3 girls in the last couple of months that have torn their ACL. The Otho-Pedic doctor of one of the girls came and talked to the trainers and coaches about proper stretching before practicing and playing a game. If you will listen to Hitter he always talks about flexing your knee, my daughter does it along with stretches and it works......

Rick PLEASE go to the web site link I provided and copy it off and give it to the trainer and coach....something is wrong if three girls from the same school playing for the same coach, playing the same sport have ACL injuries. The doctor put two and two together and took his time to find out why.

This is an absolute shame to have this happen....it does not need to happen and all you have to do is educate yourself and the coaches who are working with your kids!
