Hi everyone!!!! I'm officially here in Akron, OH! After my rookie season I made the decision to move to Akron for good! I had a blast playing for the Racers, starting almost every game either at first base or in the outfield, and leading the team in home runs!!!!! I am now giving lessons throughout the state of Ohio and surrounding states!!!

Let me know if you or your team is interested in me giving private lessons, appearing at tournaments, hosting team practices, or attending clinics!!!!

I look forward to starting lessons next week!!!

Welcome.

Akron is lucky to have a genuine professional athlete in residency, since the last one "moved his talents to South Beach"...

We have access to Pinnacle but if a team or individual has access to a facility for their lesson or workout we can look into using your facility also.

Please email my manager, Marcia, at GotBustos@gmail.com for specifics about lessons, cost, and hitting approach.

I will be teaching the same mechanics as Crystl Bustos, as I am working for GotBustos Inc. After playing underneath her and then beside her this summer, I was able to gain a lot of insight into the depths of the physical and mental side of hitting. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with all my students!!!!

RACERS MAKE MOVE TO BOLSTER 2011 PITCHING STAFF

Akron, OH--The weather in NE Ohio maybe a bit chilly but Racers Owner/GM, Joey Arrietta has been busy turning up the heat
by adding veteran Chicago pitcher, Krisitina Thorson to the 2011 Akron pitching staff. Arrietta dealt Taryne Mowatt to the Bandits to bolster
a pitching staff that includes the NPF Pitcher of the Year, Lisa Norris and four-year veteran, Jamee Juarez.

Thorson began her NPF career in Philadelphia collecting 2007 Rookie of the Year honors and a 14-5 record. Her 1.22 ERA was the second best
performance in 2007. She spent three seasons in Chicago where she posted a 29-16-3 career mark. Her 43 wins is among the best career records in NPF history.
She was a member of three regular season championship teams in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She helped guide the Bandits to the NPF Title in 2008. Thorson has logged
406.2 innings pitched, striking out 342 batters the past four seasons. Her career KO/BB ratio is 3-1.

"Thorson is a proven winner in a league that demands near perfection to dominate in the circle. She has faced the best hitters in the world and stood the test of time," comments
Arrietta. "I am thrilled to have her join our organization. Krisitna has a great drop ball and keeps the ball in the park allowing the defense to control the game."

"I have heard wonderful things about the Racers organization and their fans from a number of players in the league. I am excited to make the move and start a new chapter in
my career with the Racers," noted Thorson.

Akron, OH--The Akron Racers Charities, a non-profit, 501c3 organization, launched the much anticipated Firestone Stadium Players Plaza at the 2010 Akron Softball Hall of Fame Banquet. The Plaza provides an expanded entrance to the Stadium and will serve as a commemorative footprint to the rich 85-year history of one of the nation's most celebrated softball facilities.

"During the spring and summer, there isn't a day that goes by that someone doesn't tell me a story about the day they played at Firestone Stadium," commented Joey Arrietta, ARC President. "This idea has been on the drawing board for a few years and its time has come. I'm excited about the response I have received from players, coaches, sponsors, teams and fans."

The money collected will build the Plaza, the ARC Clubhouse and batting cages. The clubhouse and cages will be built down the left field line beyond the current Racers Merchandise Garage. The ARC Clubhouse will host hospitality and special events during numerous tournaments scheduled each year including the OHSAA State Softball Tournament. The batting cages will serve the countless number of teams that
play at Firestone Stadium every year.

The Akron Racers Charities programs include the ?Together Against Breast Cancer Project? that raised $18,000 this past summer for the AGMC Muffins for Mammograms program. This program provides mammograms for underinsured area residents. The ?Together? program has been instrumental in providing funding for various AGMC projects including a $25,000 contribution for the hi-tech audio visual equipment currently being used in the Family Conference Room at the Breast Health Center.

The Plaza, ARC Clubhouse and batting cages are being funded through the Akron Racers Charities Firestone Stadium Facilities Enhancement Initiative. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by December 2011.

Bricks are being sold for $100 and can be purchased by calling 330.376.8188.

Our goal is to bring together high school, collegiate and professional players to help celebrate and advance our game.?

?The Aeros are excited to work with the Racers to provide an evening of affordable entertainment on the diamond for fans of all ages,? said Jim Pfander, chief operating officer for the Akron Aeros. ?We look forward to a match-up of some of the best softball players in the area against our hometown Racers here at Canal Park.?
Pfander also expressed his thanks to Arrietta and the City of Akron for helping make this event possible.
On Friday, the Racers will host an ?Eat & Greet? at Hackers Bar & Grill at 7:30pm at 600 Swartz Roadon the grounds of the Firestone golf complex. Fans are encouraged to stop by after the Friday night OHSAA games for food, autographs and photographs with your favorite Racers team member.

?The Scrappers are very excited to partner with the Racers and be included in this tour,? said Matt Thompson, director of corporate sales for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. ?There?s a huge youth softball presence in our area and a perfect opportunity to draw some new fans to the ballpark. We look forward to building a relationship that will hopefully expand both our fan bases for years to come.?

Monday, Akron travels to Avon to All Pro Freight Stadium as the Lake Erie Crushers host the Racers, June 6th at 6pm. Earlier in the day, the two squads ?team-up? from 11am-1pm to conduct an all-skills clinic. The cost of the clinic is $60 and will include a game ticket. Individual game tickets are $7.

The Racers opponent will be a team made up of Ohio senior collegiate players who have exhausted their NCAA eligibility. Players must have graduated from an Ohio high school and must have attended an Ohio college or university to qualify for membership on the Ohio Senior Collegiate All Star Team rosters. Players will be nominated by their respective college coaches.

?We launched this effort for a number of reasons; to provide increased exposure for the game at all levels; to provide an opportunity to showcase the Ohio collegiate programs and players; to focus on Ohio high school players who have attended Ohio colleges and universities; to conduct a signature event that links the high school, collegiate and professional game; and finally, to expand the reach of our fan base,? added Arrietta.

Akron Racer - Coaches Clinic - Talk Softball - Slow feet, fast hands, quiet head.

As a player in the Big 12 conference, breaking offensive records, acquiring all-Big 12 selections, All-region selections, playing in the 2009 Women's College World Series, being on a top 10 team in the nation for Division 1, getting drafted in the highest level of competition, and playing for the Akron, OH Racers for 2 years going on 3, I have learned alot.

I am now opening up sessions for coaches to come and pick my brain, give me their opinions, ask me any questions regarding infielding, outfielding, hitting, baserunning, and the mental game.

I will be hosting coaches clinics for 2 hours weekly starting late November for 4 weeks. These clinics will be on Wednesdays for 2 hours. I will be handing out paper work filled with drills, driections, and practice aspects. Every week I will be covering different aspects of the game: infield, outfield, hitting, baserunning and the mental game.

My goal is for every coach to leave with different drills, different aspects, different concepts, and different ways to teach mechanics. With regard to getting better and things constantly changing it is important to stay up to par. It is my job to make sure the girls are getting taught the game. And I would love to help any coach that wants to know more or at least get a different view on the game from a division one athlete and professional athlete.

If you are interested as a coach to learn more and pick my brain please email me for times, dates, and cost at mclminner@yahoo.com

I look forward to it!!!!!!!

If you would like to learn more about me please visit www.micaelaminner.com!!!!!
