Nice article! But softball costs don't come close to baseball. Tournament baseball team player fees start at $1100 and go way up from there.
Tournament cost $550 for a 3gg. 5gg cost $700.

Estimated 2 million girls play fastpitch softball at the youth level up to age 18.
286 D1 programs-12 scholarships per team.
264 D2 programs-7.2 scholarships per team.
392 D3 programs - no scholarships
205 NAIA programs- 10 scholarships per team.
470 NJCAA programs- 24 scholarships per team if they are fully funded.
Most of these scholarships are split up, there is some stiff competition out there for a college ride not even a full one.
