hows the Ca team doing ?

Dan,

Having watched a couple of their innings today and talking with one of their pitchers Dad's they are a full roster of 95 kids that appear to all be athletic and fully skilled defensively and with decent sticks and similar to Intensity is a new team put together in the fall. Pitching looks formiddable, but not great. Tomorrow comes down to execution, as I would have to believe "Defense" wins tomorrow, so whoever EXECUTES should advance.

Prediction: (I know some people will love this while others will not... ^_^)

- SD Thunder 4 Buckeye Heat 4 (Goes into ITB... and will leave it at that...)

Pulling for Buckeye Heat on this one but certainly wanting and looking forward to watching Intensity and SD go at it if needed tomorrow. Should be great ball regardless of who plays them at this point.

Buckeye Elite are going to have a very early morning drive if they are going to make it into this tourney. :D

Thanks for the support, Triple. We hope that our "A" defense shows up.

A Twisters 14u parent found an overnight bag in the parking lot by field 1. It will be turned in as soon as we get to the field in the morning. There wasn't anyone left in the parking lot and we felt it should held onto instead of just leaving it.

Bill:

Our field ump at this evening's games said that he had specifically requested the re-lining of the field but it wasn't done.

Well, since DD is filling-in on a team, I get to set along the fence and you know, what is that saying about idle hands..... I got to do something so maybe I should voice my concerns about field conditions:D.

The Willig facility is very nice, but I'd bet that the lack of dragging and lack of chalk lines is due to the same problem we encounter at Berliner.

Tomorrow is Sunday. Everyone needs to bring their "A" game to keep moving forward. I believe that the Stingray girls learned a lot about what they need to do to improve, individual and team-wise, from their game with SD Thunder. It was an eye-opening experience and eventhough they were dejected about the loss, I could see that they learned what it is going to take to advance to the next level.

For the teams that face the SD Thunder tomorrow, work hard, stay focused, give 110%, and win or lose, learn something from the experience.

Ok, lets play ball.

Bill:

Thanks for the pep talk. It's bright and sunny here this morning but it rained a tremendous amount last night so we are off to see what the fields are like. Weather calls for no rain until around 4 pm and even then it is at 30% so it looks like we will be playing pretty much full 7 games unless we get run-ruled.

Talked to a BH parent around 1:30 this afternoon. BH fell to Cal team 3-2 ITB. Set up a losers bracket semi final vs. Maddogs. Winners final was to be Intensity vs. Cal

i was told that an asa commish was to be at fields at all times from what i understand there was not .brackets were set then heat cryed foul to TD ,then changed brackets dont know why ,i guess they didnt want to play a good team in 1st round sounds like to me the TD droped the ball on that one .from what i was told they had seedings right by tourny rules but ,thats why you need asa commish there to set things stright by rules not by Td changing his mind twice by a team crying .is guess it is what it is .Stingrays are not afraid to play anyone ,thats what good teams do ,not cry to get out of playing good teams.it makes for a long day tomorrow but they are up for it

i hope you are not a representative of our fine organization. Your statements are very unbecoming of a Stingray.

Rays were over heat 10-5 in the 6th and Intensity over Ca 5-2 in the 5th when a lightning was sighted. However the Ca coach said he didn't see it.

looks like the rays still have a chance for the bid. intensity has theirs. if rays can beat the thunder, they get the bid.

buckeye heat can get theirs next week at the firecracker frenzy.

Rays over Heat 10-8. Had them 10-1 in going into the 6th but Heat came back. Rays playing the CA team now.
