Bat/Equipment Bag Recommendations?

I'm looking to get an equipment bag for dd this Christmas. I was looking at the Easton Synergy II, but some reviews I read mentioned that it quickly gets holes in its base.

The bag is for a pitcher. I'd like it to be wheeled and as rugged as possible. She's a bit tough on her equipment, especially zippers. Space for the standard stuff (glove, helmet, couple of bats, rip-it mask, workout catchers mitt, heavy ball, extra balls, etc.)

Can you share your successes, failures, and recommendations of the brands and models you've owned?

Thanks for the link. The Cobra RTS looks great! Haven't seen them before, but I haven't paid much attention until now.

I would NOT recommend the Easton Dura bag. My entire 12U team bought them last December (Christmas gifts) and by April half of them were ripping at the seams. I have tried to contact Easton three times and have received no responses.

Semperfi77...how is the durability on the Maxball bag? They look great. My DD is looking for a new bag this year too. Was also considering the Boombah bags.

Boombah has been great for us. Some use Beast and some use batpacks. Seem to hold up very well for the girls in our organization.

Boombah is basically the Max bags. Max bags just don't have Boombah on them. My DD has Max for HS and Boombah for travel. There is no difference.

Ditto on the Easton bag. They are horrible. I'm deciding between the Maxball Cobra XL or the No Errors NO E2 Catchers bag.

My DD's teams have used the Boombahs in the past but switched to the Max Ball Bags Cobra RTS (XL's for catchers) last season. Going into 2nd season with the Max Ball Bags and no major problems. Would definitely check these bags out.

Ditto on our easton bags from last year. JUNK. Our 12u team ordered the Beast Bag from Boombah. They were on closeout for 69.99. Not sure if they still are or not, we ordered them back around halloween. I will say not sure how they will hold up, but they are sharp with all the bells and whistles.Plenty big enough for all of your equipment, maybe even for a catcher. Have had 12 of these in my garage for over a month. Cant wait till christmas to pass them out so I can gain some space back.:lmao:

The general consensus here regarding Eastons seems to concur with the negative reviews I read about online. Thanks for helping me avoid what could have been a big mistake.

I'm leaning towards the max ball RTS based on your positive reviews and their color scheme availability. I've seen positive reviews elsewhere regarding Boombahs and I'm happy to know that they seem to be synonymous with the max balls.

I'm going to look into the ultimates as well and wait another day or two before pulling the trigger to see if anybody has additional feedback or recommendations.

have been using the Ultimate bags for the last 2 years... but i see this Max bag has the bats on the side which seems easier... the ultimate has bats under the large center compartment and we have hard a hard time putting bats inside the compartment when there are helmets or face guards in there... seems like the bats on the side would be better and maybe less damage to the bats? other than that, the ultimate has been a great bag! I can fit all my DD's catchers gear, bats, helmets balls, sunglasses water, ice packs etc... NO problem.

This link shows all the pockets and things it has to offer.

That's what I was thinking, as they seem to be made out of the same type of heavyweight material. They seem to be comparable in design.

Decided to go with the Cobra RTS from http://www.maxballbags.com/. Called and spoke to Kevin (online purchasing via paypal was glitchy). Kevin said I'd most likely have the bag by Friday. Shipping was included in the price. I'm expecting a tracking number soon.

Thanks all for your helpful advice and recommendations.

I'll post a follow up once I receive the bag to provide more details on the Order/Shipment/Receipt process.

Hi all!

I got the bag (maxballbags) on Friday exactly when Kevin promised it would be there. Shipping was great via UPS. The box does say "maxballbags.com" on it, so I'm glad I was able to hide the package on delivery before the kids saw it.

I'm very happy with the look of the bag and the apparent heavy-duty nature of the zippers. It looks really durable.

Nice removable Velcro patch for embroidering (wish I had two). And it came with a complimentary pair of sunglasses that dd will probably laugh at (but maybe not, they look cool to me). It also came with a light draw-stringed pack for changes of clothes or wet gear.

Very difficult to keep buried in the closet until Christmas!

Thanks again for everybody's input.
