Beavercreek Fall Ball

The Beavercreek Parks and Recreation will be offering Fall ball again this year for both teams and individual sign-ups. The first games are scheduled for Sunday, Sep 20 and run for 4 weeks ending Oct 11, with Oct 18 as a makeup rain in case there is inclement weather.

The format will be doubleheaders each Sunday so each team will get 8 games. The cost for teams is $375 and includes USSSA sanctioning, or if the team is already USSSA sanctioned, then subtract $25. The cost includes 2 umpires per game and 1 new game ball provided each game and backup balls.

Game times are targeted at 1PM and 245PM with game length of 1:15 minutes. However, depending on the number of teams, games could start as early as 11AM.

I know last year there were scheduling problems but the person who did that is not back this year, so I have volunteered to help the City with their organization and scheduling. And, I promise much better communication than last year. I will also welcome any input teams may have regarding the scheduling or special requests.

You can get your entry form or individual sign-up form by emailing Kim at farrell@ci.beavercreek.oh.us. If she is not responsive, please let me know.

It is also my intent to get the number of teams smaller than last year---there were 32 last year and this year we will not exceed 20 teams.

Please email me at darden@hotmail.com with any questions or comments. I look forward to making this an enjoyable experience for the teams/individuals.

Teams Entered As of August 25. Will take teams up to September 10:

16/18U teams: Ohio Danger, Miss Fits, Miami Valley Xpress(Lowry), Outcast Softball. Plus we have enough individual signups to make 2 teams and we have heard that Ohio Flyers will be playing.

14U: Lady Mustangs. Miami Valley Vipers and we have heard that Lady Charmers may play.

Hi Bob, I was wanting to sign my youngest daughter up to get her familiar with travel ball, so she could start developing. What is the youngest age that can sign up? Thanks

Additional Information

We are taking team applications--- we need at least 4 teams in the 12U and 14U age groups to make it worth their time. I will not combine those age groups together but I will allow 12U teams that want to play up against 14U teams to do so. I will combine 16 and 18U teams to make a schedule. I will also allow 14U teams that want to play up against the 16and 18U teams to do so.

The pitching distance for all teams will be 40 feet.

The City has agreed to extend the team registrtaion deadline to Sep 10, due to tryouts that are on-going. The individual sign-up date is still Aug 21. So far the Ohio Danger, Valley Storm, Miami Valley Vipers, Miami Valley Xpress, Ohio Flyers, and Lady Charmers have expressed an interest in playing.

We will be working closely with teams to meet any special request they may have. WE will also offer the teams an opportunity to play either the first or second game like it was a tournament game and the other game may be more situational--that is, we could start off an inning with a runner on and no outs or 2 runners on and no outs or it could be set up like an international tie breaker situation.

The pitching distance will be 40 feet.

Please email me at darden@hotmail.com, if interested.

The Miami Valley Vipers 12u is interested in playing Fall Ball at Rotary. Are there any other 12u teams wanting to play ball at Rotary Park??? The deadline has been extended until 9/10/2009 so there is still time to make this happen.

Hey if this doesn't work out, maybe the Ohio Hawks 11u, 12u and Vipers along with a couple of other teams can put something together. Normally Beavercreek will not do 12u specific. It was based on High School in the past.
