BRETTMAN or other HS rules experts...?

I know the NCAA and ASA has this product as the only approved tacky product used for grip - besides the usual rosin bag.

Gorilla Gold

Does anyone know if OHSAA also allows it?

The Gorilla Gold felt like a pine-tar product. It made the hand very sticky, it had the consistency of Vaseline and the ball stuck to her hand; flying in all sorts of different directions. Try it first, we gave our supply to the golfers in the group.

We had much better success with a product called Ultra-Grip by Mission. It is a skincare product that is applied to the hands (not on the mound). It increased the grip without leaving anything on the ball or the surface on the pitchers hand; was very useful for those cold, wet spring days. She also used it in travel to combat sweaty hands, not a problem in HS ball.

Gorrilla Grip and rosin is allowed to be on the mound at ASA and NCAA games. If the Ultra-Grip stays in the dugout, leaves nothing on the ball, and doesn't show anything on the hands.... can an umpire rule it illegal?

Thanks fairman. Never heard of Utra-Grip. We will try that as wel. Becuase of the daily rain during the summers dry hends really have an edge.

GG has worked well for our pitchers in the past. Being careful with the towel is important though!! Too much of a good thing is not always a good thing.....
