Do you feel we should have the Bump or TTT feature here on the new community software?

Give me your best argument why it should be or why it shouldn't...

Poll will be open for the next 7 days. Once the voting over we go with what the community wants.

I voted no for the following reason:

It is pretty annoying, especially during tryout season, to have a post in many different forums TTT/bumped all in succession. A half page of new posts from one poster all in a row with several different TTT/bumps clutters up the new post pages for those who are looking to find new posts on a number of different threads.

I've thought long and hard and cannot come up with a single thread of any significant interest that I have ever seen TTT/bumped. If it's a hot thread, it gets a TTT when new posts are added automatically. There are basically two types of threads that get TTT/bumped. Tryout posts and tournament listings. Tryout posts and tourmnament listings should be exclusively in their own forums. If that were the case, TTT/bump all you want in the tryout/tournament forums.

If I had a desire to look at tryout/tournament posts I could easily go to one of those forums and look around. Would be so much better without all the TTT/bumped clutter in the new posts listings. JMHO

Or not have the Bump feature on the tryout threads.
1 post per org. not 1 post per team in each org. That's one thread group that needs fixed.

Or you just post a TTT in your same post that you have in eight different forums like is the case this morning on my new posts page. Guess it doesn't make much difference if you have a Bump/TTT button or you add to your post count by posting TTT in all your threads.

Don't know if it's possible or not, but being able to exclude tryout and teams looking for players posts in the new posts section would be awesome.

My opinion is having that feature keeps the post clean. Without this feature all you would see is a million after posts all saying BUMP or Back to the top.

The solution is to ban those posters who do that. These are both forms of forum pollution and should not be part of this site.

Do we really have members creating bots or macros to bump their posts? Whew! Man that is some serious effort just to get a post seen on OFC. I kind of feel like if they are going to do all of that we need to give them an A for effort and let them bump to their hearts content.

In all seriousness though, I do agree that it's forum pollution and a bump function would reduce that clutter.

Is it possible to put a limit on the number of bumps you can do per week? I am sure some will still utilize the 'bump' or 'TTT' option when the max out, but you would be able to then tell who is abusing the system!

Everyone seems worried about the TTT feature......yet I have came on this site for the last week & only a handful of new posts shows up each time. Not sure why people are so worried?

How bout running a Poll to see who is in favor of making everyone have an accurate profile or don't allow them to post!
It is too easy to bash someone for any reason (right or wrong) & have no repercussions. If you are not Man enough to stand behind what you have to say - then keep it to yourself!
