Calling Bretman, Rule interpretation

Bretman, You are, undoubtedly, 100% correct. However, different views from different blues..... There's going to be as many interpretations of this ruling by officials as there are from us novices.

But this really shouldn't be an interpretation issue. The sanctioning bodies have already interpreted the rule for us. The umpire either knows the rule or he does not.

Misapplication of the playing rule would be grounds for a formal protest.

But "mis-interpreting" is actually "not knowing" the rules....

SOme of us will argue anthing, won't we?

As usual. (Which makes "Can you ask your partner for Help?" a waste of time.)

Most good umpires will try to get the call correct and if approached correctly will get help...
