Colorado Sparkler Showcase

I have been following the top teams in the nation who are playing the Sparkler showcase in Colorado. In the 18U Open Division the Ohio Hawks Gold 18U is currently 9-2 and still playing. Looks like they are representing Ohio well. Field is loaded with CA and TX teams which I guess is why there is such a big turnout of college coaches.

Anyone here have experience playing there?

I have heard from coaches in the past that the pecking order in Colorado over the 4th is:

1. IDT in Boulder
2. Fireworks
3. Sparkler

but that might be totally erroneous because I did catch the Sparkler All Star Games televised on CBS and there were players that were committed to PAC, SEC and Big 10 teams on the roster. The distance between all the fields is no different than Atlanta Legacy, so I would think that coaches would travel between tournaments if they were interested in your player

While Ohio isn't Texas or Ca it sure has its fair share and then some of fastpitch talent.

18U Championship at the IDT is between the Bandits and PA Chaos. 16U is Bandits and IN Magic Gold. No West Coast or Southern teams there.

ETA: Bandits won both 18U and 16U.

Fireworks was head-and-shoulders above Sparkler until Triple Crown acquired them and blurred the line between them with Power Pools and the Super 64/32 bracket. The ranking now is more like:

1.a Boulder IDT
1.b Power Pool and Super 64

2.a Fireworks Supplemental Power Pools (SPP)
2.b Sparkler Supplemental Power Pools

3.a Fireworks Open
3.b Sparkler Open

4. Sparkler Kennedy (based on 16U Kennedy playing with Open's 4th seeds)

I don't see any mention of CBS televising Sparkler All-Star games. I expect most of the P5 recruits shown were from the Power Pools.

You are on the money. We were out there and had a great time had a great run and went and saw some games at different events. Always enjoy Estes Park and the Rocky Mountains!

They had a great run too. Played tough teams and made it pretty deep into bracket play. Just missed the semis I believe!

PA Outlaws took a mix from 14U Elite and Premier team. Had 2 Ohio girls on it, went 5-1-2. Taking 2nd seed in their pool and losing in ITB second round. Absolutely amazing softball, never seen anything like it.

Outlaws finished 5th, which earns them a berth to Boulder next year. Top 6 teams at Louisville get a berth, so the 4 teams tied for 5th played an extra game Sunday morning to determine which 2 got berths.

We had 3 14U players and the rest were 13U players. Was very proud of them.

Yes had a amazing week went 8-2 The IDT truly is a special event and can't wait till next year.
