I know its early, but there were a few tryouts this week... If you went to one, how was it? Did you get an offer? Did you go to get your dd ready for next week (i know its happening, so be honest)?
My DD went to two tryouts and was offered position on both teams. I have to say they both ran pretty good. They are not a huge organization with alot of teams. Very down to earth with nice familys coaches and players. Really liked how one sat my DD down with me and went over how she did and what she wants to work on with her to make her that much better of a player. And that is the team my DD chose to play for.
Congradulations, I hope you have a great year. I let my daughter choose 3 teams and I chose 3 teams to tryout for. Somehow 2 of our picks matched, So saturday we went to her 3rd choice that I really had little interest in. The tryout was very organized and I was very glad we went. After her 12u tryout she asked me if she could ask the coach if she could stay and tryout for the 14u (I said sure as i was having fun gabbing with the 14u parents that were showing up). She ended up getting an immediate offer from the 12u and was still being considered for 14s. The organization won me over and it was a stress free tryout (for both of us)... Thanks for treating her like a kid and not cattle with a paper number pinned to her back (even though she had a paper number pinned to her back lol)...
First was incredible, very organized, well attended, and impressed us with what the orginzation said to all families with respect to fees, playing time, expectations, hard work etc...
Second was disapointing for several reasons....
Took the offer from one of them. This will be a change in organizations as it has become time for a change....
DD went to one on Sunday. It was her same team, but everyone had to try-out again. We picked a couple more, but she was given a spot after the try-outs. It was very well ran. Every girl got a turn to show their stuff. Some of the other returning girls got a call back for next weekend. I left it up to her and she wanted to stay with her team.
