I checked on the Ohio U softball Web site and there only was the posting of Brazier's resignation.
Have they named a new coach?
Do they give a damn? After all, it's almost September!!!

I just happened to be checking on this last night. I know someone who interviewed, but I haven't heard anything official as of yet.

I think JoeA should take it, but the $56,000 per year probably won't secure his services...I'd do it for $56K.

Thanks for information
What program waits until the end of August to hire a coach -- that's an entire year of recruiting wasted
But does the administration even care?

My entire family is from Athens, except for me. When my grandparents came over on the boat, they somehow landed in Athens.

I spent many a summer in Athens as a kid. If anyone in Athens remembers me, I wouldn't have been a likely candidate for this job. But I would take $56K per year to coach softball!

bigtrain - you seem really upset by this. did you have a family member on the team?

with a new coach coming, what does that mean to any of the potential recruits that were lined up?

Woolfman, no on the family member on team (my daughter plays in Big Ten) -- and no, I'm not upset
But I do feel badly for the kids (one of them used to play for me in summer ball) who have been stuck in this crappy, rudderless program
Yes, the girls have the potential to get a fine education
But why can't they have both a fine education AND a great experience playing college softball?

The official announcement was made today, Jill Matyuch, former assistant at Texas has taken the job. All the other assistants at O.U. have resigned. It would appear that the fall season is in jeopardy and recruitment for the early signing period will suffer, at least for players in Ohio that were eligible. Tough break for this years recruits.
