I know if you take a shot in the elbow it's worth it, but how often do you see this happen? Do you want your pitcher wearing them? Do you want others also? Do you think they are worth it? Just curious. I see a lot of college girls wearing them.

As the game evolves you will see more protective equipment. Impact protection has been around a while but it is getting made lighter and smaller so I think that is why you see more athletes using it.
We have a HS team in our league where just about all their players wear it. They also seem to lead the league in HBP...

I think it is a protective device no different than a face mask, mouth piece, chest protector etc so if it saves one lady a fractured elbow it is worth it.

They will have to address them sooner or later in college, so many girls are just allowing the ball to hit them or they are slightly leaning into the pitches while standing on top of the plate. It has become very difficult for pitchers to throw inside.

My daughter wears an Elbow Guard, Evo Shield Heart protector racerback, and of course her face mask. They do not change her mechanics and gives her piece of mind. She pitches so heart protector is a must to me, and she was hit hard in the elbow last season and elbow guard has eliminated that fear.

My dd is a slapper and got nailed square in the elbow this weekend. So glad I spend the $35 on an evoshield elbow guard. Pretty sure it saved me $250 in xrays.

My youngest DD has worn one for two years. She gets hit about 4-5 times a year so this has saved her a lot of pain. She doesn't crowd the plate so she must be a ball magnet.

It is out of hand in college and I expect their example will carry into any sanction that has the same rule about the ball in the batter's box. Florida already has 93 this year after 78 last year. They had 5 in 1 inning in a big game with Bama/LSU.

I fault the way the rule is being called in games. They need to emphasize the ENTIRE ball has to be in the batter's box as many are borderline. They also need to clarify the batter can't intentionally move to get hit. I recently saw a ridiculous one where the batter lifted her elbow well above her shoulder to get hit.

Right over here!
Evo shield is the way to go. As they get older more and more inside stuff. Agree a rule change is in need. Entire ball in batters box. I do see a lot of pitchers throw inside and the batters move. The more and more the batter moves into the pitch the ump "sees" it as an attempt to swing. When a kid legitimately makes a attempt to avoid a pitch and still gets hit its a HBP. When the act II of drama club starts and they lean into pitches it reminds me of the "flop" in basketball.
