what is the age bracket for Girls fastpitch for a birthday on Jan, 1st 1995?

She turns 15 on that date...

USSSA uses 12-31 as a cutoff date. What ever age the girl is on 12-31 is the cut off. Katie is 14 on 12-31 but turns 15 on 1-1. Katie is eligible for 14-U in 2010. Katie is always eligible to play higher, but 14-U is the lowest she can go.

I can not speak to other sanctions except for NSA and they used to use 12-31 also.

Thanks Mike,

I really need to know the ASA cut off date.

I keep getting 2 different dates, 1-1 and 12-31 from other parents/players.

when you find out let us know. My daughter was born on 1-2, so down the road we will need to be sure of cut offs also. That is if she likes softball. She loves to watch football with her daddy. ;)

A.S.A. is the same 12/31 is the cutoff we always tell people age as of Jan 1st because how many girls are born on Jan 1st which is the perfect softball B-Day.

it is not in the rule book, you can find it in the A.S.A. Code

PART 5
ELIGIBILITY, COMPETITION AND TOURNAMENTS
Article 501 ELIGIBILITY.
C. Player Eligibility.
05. Proof of Age.
a. Junior Olympic Age Qualifications. A player’s age as of
December 31 determines the age in which the player is eligible to play
the following year.

or here is the web page: http://downloads.asasoftball.com/about/pdf/asa_code.pdf

She is eligible to still play a year of 14U if she/you would like. It goes by her age on 12-31 which is still 14.

I always wondered what would happen with the birthday on 12/31...cause technically they are both ages on that day lol.

Thanks again Todd,

I see it on page 45 and 46 of the ASA code book you provided. :yahoo:

As for bringing her onboard with us this year (2010), I can only say is, I'LL TRY. I'll see what i can do.
She is beyoud her years. She is the complete package every team looks for, both on and off the field..
At this time, I'm trying to get her to work with our players/Pitchers at our weekly practice, if thats ok with you??

I'll talk with you at our next meeting this coming Jan.
