Folks, after what is a very successful 16u season Mark Santos and I will be returning for 18u ball. We are returning most, but not all, of our players and we are looking for 3 more players with similar goals and mindset of our team. All of our players either have offers or have already committed, so we are looking for players who are either committed and want to play and get better or players looking to land with the right college. We are also not looking for pitchers at this time; we are returning 3 very talented pitchers and I don't have any innings to give. We would like to add another catcher with a strong secondary position.
Mark and I have relationships and connections with colleges at every level and we will get you in front of the right people. Some of our connections include: Tennessee State, Ashland, Akron, University of the Cumberlands, Cedarville, Ohio Christian, Rio Grande, Wilmington, Maryville, Asbury, Miami U., MUH, Transylvania, UNOH, Wheeling Jesuit, Urbana, Findlay, Bluffton, Hillsdale College, Georgetown College, Kentucky Christian, Brewton Parker, etc. - we have done camps and even scrimmages with several of the above list and we will continue to do more of the same this fall and winter. Our 2017 summer schedule will feature 6 tournaments; mostly local (because we don't have to travel) with one nice season ender (probably on beach somewhere). Our fees will remain $550 which will include 3 uniforms, jackets, t-shirt(s), and batting helmet. There will be fund raising options to reduce the fees even further.
Tryouts are stressful for both players and coaches, so what we are offering is the opportunity to be workout with the team at practice this week and next. We will be working out on Tuesday and Wednesday at Walter J. Long fields from 6pm to approximately 8:30pm or so.
