I have a question, if a girl or girls (not the entire team) has played up are they allowed to play back down. I have heard of entire teams playing up in 14U's but they would still be on a 12U roster, if a few players play up wouldnt they have to get on the 14U roster? And if so would that make them not able to get back on a 12U roster? This is posed as a question not an accusing anybody just want some clarification.

The Lasers Green beat us 6-5 in ITB. It was very good game. The score went back and forth the whole game.

Zuni,

Not sure what you mean. ?we didn't rank the 8 teams left (?). ?The winners bracket didn't change (sites and times obviously do)...... Are you saying that after our decision was made, we re-shuffled and started a brand new winners' bracket? ?Let me know, or does this answer your question?

I sent you a private message.... hopefully you will understand what I am asking! Thanks! ?;D

Just wanted to say that I too had heard rumors that Teays Valley was loaded and using Illegal 14U players. But I can assure you that after playing against them and talking to Coach Taylor ( who I've known for many years ) after the game, that this would never be an issue with any team he was associated with! ?Alex Taylor was the pitcher that was injured Saturday. Thankfully, she was out at the ball park the next morning, smiling and in good spirits. To Danny, Alex and the rest of the Teays Valley 12U team we wish you luck with the rest of your season. Lee, Kim#88 and Dakota#44 Laser Orange 12U.

Bink44,

Please let Alex Taylor and her family know that our thoughts and prayers are with her. I had heard about this from my site leader, and I hope that the medics took good care of her. If there is anything GAPSS can do for her, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Please read the thread "Teays Valley Pitcher" in this forum. He has some pretty interesting things to point out. This has been a topic for a long time. What can be done?

A big thak you to Mike & staff for doing everthing that they could to get the games in with all the rain. I wanted you to know that your hard work didn't go unnoticed.
The only thing that was wrong was the officiating. These were the same umpires that we have had in other tourneys and they were not that bad. And I saw it in not only the games that my daughter was in but others as well. It was the smallest strike that I ever seen. No edges, no corners, no knees, no letters just right down the middle pretty much for a strike. I have seen young teens in rec the call better. Not knowing the count or outs. Also it was like they forgot the rules or something, botched calls in a close game that cost the game and would eventually end the tourney for us because the brackets had to be altered because of weather. I understand that you are not going to get every call and umpires are human too. I also try not to blame umpires for a loss because bad calls can be like a bad hop. It's just one of those things that part of the game. However I made my trips around it seemed bad all over. I just needed to get that off my chest. With the competion that entered, one would think that that this would not be a problem.
Thanks again to all the grounds crew for all your hard work and maybe next year tou will get 3 days of sun. And thank you Mike for all your hard work.

mdf,

Thanks for the kind words. If any team can guarantee sunny weather, we will waive their fee. Problem is, our staff won't know what to do without Diamond Dry squishing around in their shoes. Ha.

I am going to discuss with our ASA chief some of the concerns voiced here and at other tournaments. I too notice some different strike zones. Hopefully I can get better clarification on why their are vast differences from umpires to umpires. Srike zones are not very consistant at all, imho.

I will check with TD and see where they were and where they went. I know Liberty High School had some there on Friday afternoon Saturday morning, and that most of them were checking out 18u's and then moving to Olentangy High school Saturday afternoon to view 16u. Then the rains hit.

Who won the 18U championship ? How did the other teams finish? When we left Coke/Ice was up 4 -0 over the Metro Express. WV Dusters were up 3-2 over the West Penn Gems.
