ASA Tournament GAPSS WILL BE JULY 4-6, 2008

I am sorry to say that we won't be having a 10U tournament this year. We were only able to attract 4 10U teams in total and when I offered the 10U teams the choice of playing a 5 gg format or not playing - one team said they didn't want to incur the travel expense to play against so few teams and requested to be removed. We will be providing all 10U teams a full refund.

We have 1 spot remaining in the 12U age bracket. Please contact me asap if you are interested in participating.

I'm really impressed with the amount of communication that has been sent and the organization of the tournament. Hats off to the TD!! We, the Lady Lasers Orange, are really looking forward to playing at Gapps this coming weekend!

Due to all the thunder storms in the area Are there any changes in the game schedules for tomorrow?

First games for Friday pool play have been pushed back 1 1/2 hours, all other games will be pushed back also, see www.gapss.org for details.

Be sure to check the updated schedule. Due to the "No new inning after 60 minutes" they will pick up time throughout the day. Our 6:00 pm game is scheduled for 6:15pm.

New pool schedules on the web site. Starting at 3:45 Friday everyone plays 1 pool game with 60 minute time limit. Blind draw into double eliminaion for Saturday.

Unless I misread the GAPSS site, all games today have been cancelled. :'(. Elimination play starts tomorrow. New schedule out by 6:00 pm.

Coaches:

All games for Friday are canceled. I will be posting the filled out (via a blind draw) Double Elimination Brackets by 6:00 pm today.

To address the inevitable question about the possibility of refunds, the GAPSS Board plans to offer some form of refund for teams that only play two games. Although this is outside of our tournament policy, we believe that it is only fair. The amount of the refund will be determined once our final expenses (and savings due to rain) are determined and the GAPSS Board has a chance to review and finalize.

Our focus is getting the fields ready for the DE bracket play tomorrow. We will have volunteers working on the fields as soon as the rain stops and we can get on them.
