Many of you are aware that the Valley Extreme Summer Starter was cut short due to rain. The ASA onsite umpires in charge directed Valley Extreme to do a coin flip to determine the winners for each of the remaining games. This has been done many times over the years. Monday it was brought to our attention that this was not the way to do this since all the teams remaining had already played bracket games. I?m sure you have seen the rules posted. We want to apologize for doing it wrong, it was not our intent to ever get it wrong.
Below is the correct standings according to ASA (per Warren Jones) Sorry it took a couple days.

10u There were 2 teams left to play the championship, Ohio Ice Blue and Valley Extreme. Ohio Ice Blue wins because they gave up the least amount of runs during Sunday bracket/elimination play.
12u 4 teams had advanced to the semifinal bracket. Ohio Hurricanes is the winner as they gave up 0 runs during Sunday bracket/elimination play. Runner up is Erie Frost who gave up 5 runs, 3rd place goes to Wolfpack 04 who gave up 7 runs and 4th place is Sluggers who allowed 9 runs during Sunday bracket play.
14u Lady Lookouts advanced to the championship game therefore they are the winner. 2 teams were in the semifinal game, Ohio Energy & Ohio Blast. Ohio Energy is the 2nd place team for the 14u division because they only allowed 3 runs during bracket play and Ohio Blast finishes 3 because they gave up 5 runs.
16u Mid-American Fastpitch & Valley Extreme Georgalas both advanced to the semifinal, however Mid-American only gave up 4 runs during Sunday bracket/elimination play therefore Mid-American is the 16u division winner. Valley Extreme is runner up allowing 6 runs. There were 4 teams in the quarter final round.

10u Ohio Ice Blue
12u Ohio Hurricanes
14u Lady Lookouts
16u Mid-American Fastpitch
Eastern National bids were also awarded to Ohio Energy 14u, Valley Extreme - Georgalas

Thank you for working to get it straightened out and clarified. Too bad the head umpire did not know the rules, kinda the point of having them there, lol. Either way good job Valley Extreme to get it all worked out correctly!

Thank you to the valley extreme org. We all understand how hard it is to deal with rain outs. The fact you took a look at the Asa rules and explained it in a open forum is awesome. No one wants to win on a coin flip and it was anyone's game in the final four teams. Our hats go off to the Sluggers as they are tough!

Valley, great job on getting it right! Making mistakes are very easy, but admitting to them and correcting them are not! Congrats Caines03! You have a very talented team and your girls were class acts!

We love coming to Ohio to play VERY good teams. Sluggers, Hurricanes, and Wolpack are all very classy teams with great coaches and kids!
