Sliderz,I Was at the High School last week where your DD's picture will be hanging. As I walked down the hallway towards the oldtimers end [ that's what I have heard some of the kids call it ] I got a little competitive rush when I saw some of the guy's All State picture's that were on the same teams as I participated on. Could almost hear the coach's blow the whistle's and hear the voice's yelling at me to get a move on. Brought back alot of memories that have been dormant for a while. The nice thing is 25-30 years from now she will be able to walk that hall and relive her High School expierience.

Being the optimist that I try to be, I'm looking forward to a productive and fun first season with my 9th grade DD in High School. The new coach here at Grove City Central Crossing seems very committed year round, as I first met him shortly after he took the job, down at NSA Nationals last July. He comes from a very solid H.S. program after 13 years, and has a traveball mentality of hardwork, discipline and the best players will play regardless of class.

Whether or not a topic is considered hijacked or not, I agree that more posters' should share who they and there DD's are affiliated with. It would make for a clearer picture when one posts. JMHO though. ;)

I realize this is "off topic" but credentials and chest thumping is irrevelant. This forum is for the open sharing of opinion and ideas and if you don't like what someone has to post then so what? That is their opinion and right or wrong they are entitled to it. People have similar and dissimilar experiences with softball and sharing those issues is why we're here, not to always be in agreement.

i was in Ashland couple of years ago when Springfield won state, my neice played for Springfield and she told me that was something she would never forget, to look up at all the spectators on her side of the field and realize that a lot of them had no relations on the team but came to support the school..her school is not doing too good this year but she is going to go and play with all her heart because shes that kind of kid.............

Hey, we're supposed to be sharing opinion here! Why is everyone suddenly so grouchy, did everybody lose their basketball pool? ?And because I have 7 posts means what? I don't have "credentials" or my opinion isn't good enough? Now its my turn to say help me understand! I didn't want to disrupt this topic but if someone has an issue, PM me and keep the posts on topic.

Easy slidehome, I apologize for coming off a little harsh. I just like when people identify thereselves, it makes it easier for me to imagine where they came from geographically, or how much they have traveled with there summer team, or maybe, we might even have some common friends in the softball community. Which in turn makes for good conversation, or the possibility of meeting at a future softball tourney and making new friends.

I wish more OFC'ers were more open, there are probaly a lot of people on OFC I have seen or even talked to at tourny's, clinics, NFCA classes...ect...ect, but will never know because the username and travel or H.S. team is never shared. Trust me, it has nothing to do with "chest thumping"!!! You just have to go about it in a humble way and most people will take it that way. Anyway, here's to everyone having a great 2007 H.S. and travelball season.

Lee Pyles-Grovetucky, Ohio...lol. :)

P.S. I'm actually doing well in my basketball pool, but I'm still 5 pts behind my better half..now if someone can explain that one to me...I would really appreciate it...lol. Well the game is on, time to shut down.

Go Bucks!!! OH-

IMO, all hs softball has drama. it doesn't matter where you go, some girl will be talking about another behind her back, n its life! I'm fortunate to have a very strong hs softball program, but being on the jv team with girls who hate the varsity coaches and players is difficult. but i love the game and i will go through any drama just to play on the varsity team at bloom carroll high school!

I think that some of you should give up coffee. ?Calm down and enjoy HS and Travel softball while you can. ?Everyone has their own sets of values and preference as related to their individual situation. ?Accept it or ignore it, but don't call anyone out over it. (Like Dorsey did Odgen)

Amen Johnnies- before you know it you'll be reading these posts without a DD playing- we're down to one now and how we wish we still had 2 at home. You hear it often but I don't think we listen enough- these days fly by - enjoy each and every moment!
