Ok now it's time to bring the softball championship where it belongs too! Wake up and Vacate the catacombs of Firestone already!!!
I've been wondering this for a long time with all high school team sports. Why not determine the site based upon the location of the participants? A central location would be ideal for a game between a team from Toledo and a team from Cincinatti, but what if the teams are both from the northeast corner of the state? Would you want to drive 2 hours to play a game against a team when you could throw a rock from the parking lot of your school and break the window of a car parked at their school? Find a suitable field that makes sense and schedule a game. Seems faily easy and logical.
While there is no where near the amount of planning needed for softball/baseball and some of the other less followed sports as football it would be very hard to find a venue in late May for a came in early June especially; one that could handle more than one game, accomodate umpires, OHSSA officials, press etc...
Firestone is a dump short and sweet.....center of the state makes most sense for all players as well.....at a state of the art facility in the states biggest university stage.....
Wow **** seems much worse than a word starting with a C and ending with a P ( just saying )
