Just curious with all the other threads out there, how many went to the same tryout with the same team or only one tryout with many teams??

Poll didn't quite reflect our experience, which was 1 tryout with "another" team, and 2 tryouts with a different "other team (and ultimately daughter's new team)

I think my daughter and I over did it. She went to 12 tryouts. 3 with 1 team and 2 with 3 other teams. All this over the course of 2 weeks. We are new to the travel ball system. She has since found a good home and can't wait to get started.

Well, she has been working really hard from last season to this year. Pitching lessons with 2 instructors. 1 every week and 1 every other. Honestly we would have been looking for a team this spring if I had known about this forum earlier. I figured that the teams were set last fall. Didn't realize that teams had openings even going into the season. Oh well..... Rec ball was a real eye opener this year. At 10u if the girls could get it over the plate, which is a big IF, it was more like a slowpitch ball, with a 10ft arc. No ill will meant toward any of the girls. My daughter just likes to be a little more challenged. She will definately get that in the upcoming season as she is less experienced than most of the teams and players she will be facing. She has heart though, so she will give it her best to get up to speed quickly.

1 tryout with old team and stayed there.

Last year we went to 5 tryouts with 5 teams. She made all 5 but ended up with her current team. That ended up being a great choice.

welcome to travel ball! Get ready to open up your wallet/purse and watch it burn. Also, good luck with yard work and house keeping. But, I wouldn't trade it for the world. My dd has a blast with it. This is her 3rd year, and she loves it. We've met some amazing parents and coaches during this time.

Thanks. That is why I have children to help with the yard. Plus it also helps that we live in a subdivision with a small lot........ My daughter was introduced to the world of the lawnmower this summer, so when I got home from work we could get to the fields..... Yeah, my wallet is a lot lighter already with the cost of an astro turf pitching lane in the back yard, netting for a backstop, hitting nets, tees, new bats, bag, pitching lessons. I think I could have bought a smaller used car with all of the $ we spent this year alone.

2 with my DD team and one more. Just to get the experience really. Although it is closer to home. I am happy with the outcome.
