The Breakers are hosting an IFA National Qualifier on the May 15 -17, 2009 weekend. Tournament will be held in North Ridgeville, OH and run as follows:

Sanction - IFA (New Lower Sanction Fee $10)
Ages - 10u, 12u, & 14u
Format - 4gg* (3 pool, single elimination)
Cost - $375
Awards - Team & Individual for 1st & 2nd in each age group. Paid berth to Nationals for 1st.
Concessions: Full concession stand (no restriction on coolers)

To let the Ohio teams know... I have been asked by the Illinois 12u teams if they could play up in the 14u National event in Springfield as their sister team was planning on attending the 14u Nationals . Any 12u team can play up and would be placed into the 14 "B" division automatically. So instead of splitting parents from attending one child's Nationals and another child's national somewhere else... we can offer this to help in saving costs to the teams.

Now, don't take me wrong, the 12u Nationals in Oklahoma is going to be a great event and Harry Hosey runs a great event for the girls there..... and understand if you are 12u team getting in the 14u "B" bracket... you will be playing 14u "B" teams... but it includes alot of 13u teams as well that are just one year older.

We have had interest from the Crushers (check in the mail), Extreme (received deposit), Ohio Emeralds (verbal) and our own 12u. The registration package has been downloaded 109 times over the past two weeks since it was posted. I have no way of knowing how many of those are 12u though. Hope this helps. I plan to start listing the teams entered on this thread sometime next week.

We have moved the "Register By" date back to April 22 to accommodate the Rec teams that are formed in the Spring, so it is only fair that we move it back for the Elite tournament too.

As soon as I get through this weekend (uniform fittings, spiritwear, etc...) I'll put the lists together. I have received the registration for your dd team though. I'm getting several calls a day about the tournament and have had verbals from two teams from NY, one from PA and 5 from Northern Ohio so far.

I haven't forgotten about your request. To say I have been extremely busy would be an understatement. I continue to get registrations in an hopefully can get a list up soon. It seems the only time I have to look at the forum anymore is when I am at work.

We have no 10u teams as of yet, so we'll most likely cancel that age group. the 14u seems to be really popular and the 12u is picking up.

They have been sending them to a Florida Address. I got two in the mail this morning. Team out of New York and a local team from Uniontown.

Only one week left to get your registration and payment in. Several of you have called and/or emailed me with interest, please send in your paperwork. List of teams that have paid and sent in a completed registration are above.

This tournament has been Canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience, but the interest was just to light to go forward. Not sure if it was the economy or just too early in the season. We'll try a later date next year, sometime after school lets out I imagine.


All those who registered will be getting a full refund in the mail this week. Again, thank you for your interest and look for us again next year.
