Illegal Bats

DD's 1st college game was @ the tourney in Canfield this morning and the umps told her coach that most of the team's bats were illegal this year. I wasn't there when it happened, but I heard that they took the -10's (CF4's and CF5's I believe). DD's CF5 Insane -10 was OK to use. I'm curious to see what happens with the umps tonight and tomorrow @ the Firestone tourney.

They test every bat and each different drop is considered a diferent bat so the test the -11,-10,-9,and -8 CF5 seperate. The -11 failed 3 times so it is banned but the other drops are still legal.

Talked to dd after the night game and her 2011 CF4 -10 is banned. It's a new NCAA list so I don't know if it will affect other sanctions.

If they pass that ruling down to ASA...wonder if they will carry the pitching distance down as well.

ASA doesn't use NCAA banned list. Plenty of bats that were NCAA banned last year are still legal in ASA.
