Injury Question

My 13 year old DD is going in for Micro Fracture surgery on her Talus bone (ankle) due to OCD (Osteochondritis Dissecans) in December and am being told it will be 4 months until she is able to be at full activity. I was wondering if anyone in the softball community has seen a player go through this and what their recovery time was, etc. and more important...did this affect their mobility?

Greg Oden had micro fracture surgery on his knee and was out for a year. :(

Wow, sorry to hear. No experience with that injury/surgery but I could guess best piece of advise is don't rush back. Be patient and do the rehab. Good Luck to her!

Thanks Brian. Yes, not even going to rush it to make sure she is 100%!

Best piece of advice from someone who has had 3 knee and 1 wrist surgeries ad had full recoveries from each is to get the best possible physical therapist possible. surgery is only half the battle!

Sry about the struggles. Youth is on her side for healing. She will be back with fire and passion once healed!
