Has anyone intentionally hit the umpire to protest his calls. Check out this video: http://www.workhorsevideoproductions.com/the pitch.mpg

It is from the Class AAA baseball championship series Saturday in Georgia. They are investigating to see if it was intentional. See what you think.

Has that ever been done in fastpitch?? Ever been thought about??

it was reported the catcher had his scholly offer withdrawn. School was fined 1000 bucks. I do think it was clearly intentional. His team was getting hammered when the play occurred. MD

Yes. I know a coach that is now retired that did it. He even brags about it at his clinics. It was to get his point across , as the umpire was not calling the strike zone correctly.

If you watch it in super slow motion, the catcher sneezed right as the ball was released. Why else would he drop to his knees and pull his glove down.

That would sure stink for that catcher if he lost a scholarship following his coaches instructions and the coach is running around bragging about it.

I think that catcher needs acting lessons!! ;D

It is a girls fastpitch coach and a well known organization, not mens. ?My dd was at the clinic and he asked this of everyone there. Would you ever hit an umpire? He points out why he did it and the results .He ?says he got his ?calls from that point foward. The umpire knew he did it, in his words. ?
