What is considered top tier? It is probably a combination of all three, top tier or not!

I think the best evaluation of a coach is what the kids who play for that coach feel about them. Maybe not right now, but as time goes on. Lessons learned are not always immediate. Sometimes it takes time for a player to reflect on what they learned and the experiences they had. Funny thing about that is the bad experiences. These are sometimes where the most takeaways come from. With that being said. W/L is a big factor, player development, and quality of players. Attracting top talent is important, however retaining said talent is as well. Keeping parents happy should be so far down the list, it should not be a factor at all. Its also depends on who you ask. I am sure Org directors will have a different take then parents, then kids.

I wasn't there for the parents, I was there for the girls. Parents will feed the fire both good and bad to the girls, but the ones who truly enjoy what you did for them or taught them, will let you know years down the road as a few have done to me when I run into them.......

if you win some not all games, teach the game and teach sportsmanship and respect of the game you should be able to keep a position if you choose to usually....

Since taking over as president of the Buckeye Heat last year, I am looking for experienced coaches that want to participate in tourneys that have outstanding competition. But with that being said...we want those coaches to practice on a regular basis and be able to develop the players on that team into fundamentally strong players that will be able to compete against the best and are driven to be the best. We want them to have a deep love and respect for the game and bring that out in their players as well...both on and off the field. I would expect them to be a student of the game by attending clinics and reaching out to others in the softball community for their knowledge...and to be constantly challenging themselves and their team to achieve new heights in their development.
Any coaches out their looking for a challenge and the opportunity to be the best??

Having been around the game a while there is several scenarios that seem prominent with coaching changes...
1. Age group has completed youth play
2. Coach realizes after 14U it a different ball game and leaves the team for someone more experianced
3. Coach struggles with organization, planning, getting help etc. and throws in the towel
4. Coach has issues outside of softball that makes a change necessary
