i know this is an unusual request... any team going to the sept 22th team camp? would like to go. but no teams from our area(lake county) know that camps like this exist.

Coach I believe it's his way of slamming lake county. As I recall crushers took their team to this event several years ago. But us folks in lake county are hillbillies and can't figure out if its 22th or 22nd of September.

Haha, that's what I thought ... and you have to love the just flat one word answer to my two questions ... ouch! Yeah, I mean OFC is a great place to ask if your daughter can hook up with another team who may be playing in this event, but that request seems pretty well hidden in yet another slam on softball in the area. It's amazing we can all even read and write, Mike, let alone that our daughters are/have all played college softball!

Dennis, I know a whole lot of girls from Lake County that have played or are currently playing college ball ... some played on Lake County-based teams, and some didn't ... and some played in events like the Kent State one. I don't know what travel organization your daughter is playing on, but maybe she is just playing on the wrong teams. Oh, and a few of us from the area have been around awhile and are fairly well educated ...

Last I heard there were 88 counties in Ohio ... why does Lake County get picked on so much? I can provide a very long list of Lake County girls who have gone on to play and contribute significantly to their college teams. Are there a ton of strong travel organizations actually based in Lake County ... no ... but I bet that can be said for about 75 other counties in the state as well. The important thing is that the girls here are getting the opportunities to play at the next level, so to be honest I am sick and tired of it. Unfortunately we have had a few people in the past and currently from within the county who continue to prolong this. If you don't like it, you don't have to live here, right? At the minimum, your DD doesn't have to play travel ball with a county-based team. If you can't get her out of the county to do that, that's on you. Most families on good travel teams all throughout the state are going beyond their immediate county to practice and play.

still looking to go to camp. No more posts. The team i signed with for 2014 may have coaches or parents that are ofc users. they may get the wrong impression of me.
