Keep in mind Ohio State has a tourney Saturday and Sunday , with multi college teams playing.

Thought it was a Showcase ? how do you win it

Unless they ran it in a tournament format which can take away the purpose of a showcase which is to showcase all the girls and not worry about winning and losing.

Gold did win the final game, by run-rule after 5 innings.

I was the third base umpire in that game and it was great to see all of the talented players out there!

Hey Bret, was that you behind the plate for our games yesterday?

No. I was supposed to be working two games on the plate, two on the bases. But an umpire called off at the last minute due to an illness and we had to shuffle around all of the assignments. I wound up working all my games on the bases Sunday, which is unusual.

I want to thank Tony for a great tournament. Lasers Gold beat us 8-0 in the finals. It was tough to play 4 games in a row without a break. We were toasted by that fourth game and kinda played that way. I'm not making excuses as the Lasers Gold beat us Sat morning 6-2. We had 2 run rule wins then beat Northern Ohio in the semi's (9-4)and Gold beat Central Ohio Ice in the other semi's.Great weekend for softball; much better than the cold weather last weekend at Berliner.
