Looks like Sundogs went 8-0-1 for the weekend to win 10U...

Let's hear more about what happened this week at Lasers ... who won, how was competition, and how did overall event go?
Sundogs 10u went 8-0-1...beating the Stingrays 3 times, the Vipers twice, the semi final was a great game, the Ice, The Blast, and the Louisville Sluggers in the Championship. The only blemish was a tie with the Storm in pool play. Great tourney which also had the Lasers, Outlaws and Marion Diamonds.

It was a very well ran tournament and The Lasers did a great job keeping everything running. It was my first time being there for it and it was worth all the hype! Well Done Lasers!

My first time there as well. Ran pretty smoothly. Couple things I hope they improve on next year....
1. Check your dimensions. Ours and the field next to us, played a couple innings with pitchers at 40'. It was a pretty big under taking to move them as they had to be dug up and dug in. The pitching rubber was connected to a concrete slab. So it wasn't as simple as pull 4 nails and move it back 3 ft.
2. Manicure the fields better. A couple of the fields had some SERIOUS rock issues. Saw a couple heads almost come off. Even the middle infielders needed masks.

Diamonds 04 competed well this weekend. We had a couple of good wins over Ice orange and the Outlaws. The team played a great game against the Vipers. A lot of excellent 10U teams were battling it out for sure! Thanks to Jeff and the Laser crew for hosting the tournament.
Diamonds 96 took a third place finish at the 18U. Although I miss coaching them this year, I have to admit it was nice just sitting back and enjoying the game from outside of the fence.

For 14u, Gahanna West Fields were in better shape than Gahanna South. #3 at south had a ton of rocks, #2 infield was so jacked up, ground balls were either popping up over infielder and taking a bounce left or right. Saw and played against some great teams this weekend. Congrats to Classics '99 on their championship as they are the real deal and a class act from coaches to players. Playing teams like that only makes us better!

Man was it nice to see most of the top 10u teams compete. Congrats to Sundogs for a great weekend and looking forward to stingrays and the slammers getting in on the competition.
Cannot say enough good things about the experience we had this weekend and how well things were run on the 10u side! 8 games against the best 10u softball teams OH and KY has to offer was absolutely worth the trip for us. Knocked out of bracket play by the Sluggers... learned a thing or two this weekend about mental toughness and the need to bring it ALL 7 innings. Congrats to the Sundogs!
Correction, Central Ohio Ice '00 is what is should be in 9's spot versus '99. Proud of the teams performance that day so wanted to make sure they got the recognition! Again, great tournament!
Echo the sentiments others have posted...very nice tournament with quality competition. I commend the entire Lasers organization...especially the individual parents and coaches that volunteered all three days dragging and lining fields between every game, shagging foul balls and keeping the umpires hydrated. Definitely a class act!

The 10U bracket was tough... There were some really great games. Field crews were on it for sure. Only complaint was parking.. it was not pretty, but it was free! Lasers did a great job!

John Bishop Park was maintained very well. Field crews did an outstanding job. Of all the teams we played I dont have a negative comment about anyone. Coaches and parents were great. They were all fun to talk to and joke with between innings. We only had 1 win over the weekend but we had a great time playing great teams. We are looking forward to next year.

while you guys are talking about fences I seen some flat out bombs from some 10u girls this weekend and I mean BOMBS!!! That was very cool to see some of them for the first time going over the fence. One of them was the ss for stingrays 03 she hit a bomb off us that girl is a stud.
