Heybucket.com (under fastpitch discussions-1st page) has a forty some page thread going called "Anderson Q & A" on the Nanotec and other anderson bats which is hosted by none other than Steve Anderson (the owner). It is very informative, he talks in great detail about the Nano technology. Early reports sound good.

Mr Anderson is a very polite person and easy to talk to......... as long as you dont ask him about ball exit speed ,:lmao:

Lol......yeah parts of the thread is a "bats for dummies" seminar and you do have to weave your way through the anderson bat fan club here and there. But like you said he is very polite and it is nice of him to take the time to answer all those questions.

I just received a Nanotek for my DD yesterday. After just a few rounds of soft toss, she is in love with the bat. Accordin to her, it swings lighter than a CF3 of equal size and has a distinctive crack when you make contact. Even hits off the end of the bat seemed to come off hot. I even took a few rounds of soft toss and was surprised by how well the bat performed. I absolutely loved the feel at contact. The sweetspot is huge.

She prefers an end loaded bat like her RT, but she can't use the RT for faster pitchers or when she's tired. However the Nanotek has a slightly end loaded feel, just enough to allow you to feel the end of the bat without making it difficult to swing quick and hard. She actually prefers the feel at impact to the RT. I can see her putting the RT in time out in favor of this bat.

Instead of a painted barrel, there appears to be a wrap around sticker with the Anderson name and logo. I'm not sure how it will hold up after use, but it is comforting not to worry about chipping and peeling paint. We hit many balls in the back yard and only saw a few impact marks on the barrel that were easily wiped away by my fingertips.

Glad to hear the good results........
What size bat did you go with? What size Rockettech does she have? I had read that people are going to a little bigger bat if they have been using a Rockettech.

Am curious to see how many R/T devotees switch to the balanced nano vs the old standard R/T. keep us informed of how it breaks in.

I am not a bat expert by any definition, but it seems to me that the technology for bats peaked 5-6 years ago. Manufacturer's have had to "dummy down" the bats and the exit speeds to conform to new testing standards set out by the ASA among others.

It is my understanding that metal bats perform the best out of the wrapper and decrease in "pop" until they are dead, and synthetic bats perform the best right before they fall apart. The new standard tests composite bats in a broken in condition (I think its 1000 hits). They are all held to the 98 MPH standard, but I would submit that the composite bats keep getting "hotter" with more hits past 1000. I would love to see an independent study on ACTUAL exit speeds. I believe that many of us that have bought $300 bats in the last few years would puke on our shoes over the results. This will probably never happen, and the manufacturer's are for sure not going to release that info.

I agree with BouldersDad. Just pick out a decent bat that your dd likes (based on the color?), and you will probably be in better shape financially than to keep buying the "new" technology that is no different than nearly any other bat out there.

You will never be allowed to see ball exit speed, They couldent charge the prices they did if you found out the truth. No bat is allowed to have a ball exit speed of over 98 mph......... so it realy dosent matter what you buy. unless you luck out and run across some 05 R/T,s that your kid can swing...... and even then if she dosent have the proper hand path, does no good to have a 300 dollar bat and a 10 dollar swing.

I have a wood Hillerich & Bradsby that can easily hit the ball 300+ feet using good swing mechanics and proper hand path. That should clear a typical 200' fence. The bonus is you can buy a dozen of those for the price of one aluminum/composite bat. Just a different mindset...

Her Nanotek is a 32-22, her RT is a 32-23 (I got a great deal on it).

She finished last year with a 31-21 Voodoo (I got a really great deal on it) and was planning on switching to her 31-22 2006 Synergy (I got a great deal on it). Since the Synergy is not yet broken in, she was swinging the RT at her lessons because she liked how good it felt at impact.

{QUICK NOTE: I am a bat junkie. My family believes that I should attend "Bats Anonymous" :lmao:}

What started us down the path of acquiring the Nanotek was that she had a 32-22 purple/white stealth I got last year for her birthday (you guess it, I got a good deal on it). She didn't like how it felt compared to her other bats so she sold it since it probably was never going to get much use. Since she liked the way the RT felt at impact, we took the money and bought another Anderson bat.

Yes, the Nanotek 32-22 swings much lighter than the RT 32-23. She even says it feels lighter than her 31-22 Synergy. Looks like I may be selling the RT in a few months.

Nanotek was a great bat for 2 weeks until it went dead. Just sent it back to Anderson. Since it was within 30 days, I'm getting a refund instead of a replacement. Maybe mine was just a dud. :(
Hope the rest of you have better luck than I did.
