Aspire Higher Softball will be offering a mental training class for middle school and HS athletes at Mannino's Grand Slam in Columbus in a 5 week program starting November 5th or 6th. It can be combined with a hitting class or taken independently. This is being taught by Karen Linder, former college head coach with 801 career victories who has coached 82 All Conference players and 200 NFCA Scholar Athletes.

Nov 5, 12, 19, 26 and Dec 10
Sunday night classes are from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Nov 6, 13, 20, 27 and Dec 4
Monday night classes are from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Cost is $75

The classes teach strategies that will help athletes become more confident and consistent in their play. These are the same strategies that professional, Olympic, and college athletes use to consistently perform at a high level. Athletes will be doing activities that lead to self-discovery and understanding in how to maintain a higher level of confidence while competing.

Topics include:
Self - evaluation, creating the vision of the player you want to be; confidence; relaxation imagery and visualization to train the subconscious mind; understanding various forms of focus and how to use them to help performance; use of routines to help develop consistency; dealing with doubt, anxiousness, or fear; setting intentions and goals for improvement.
